 conduct re service & warranty
I'm totally dissatisfied with the service I received in Edmonton, Alberta. I paid $ 3,172.32 for a rebuilt transmission. I wanted to have it done because the motor on my car purred and I knew that this car would last me a long time, believing and having fate in the mechanics working to rebuild the transmission.
I took the car to AAMCO in April 2007 and picked up the car in July 2007. It took 4 months for them to put it together, not to fix it. I requested that the warranty should start when I picked up the car. I returned in August 2007 to let the owner aware of the transmission slipping at 40/60/80 km. He replied that the motor had to adjust to the transmission. I realized at that time that he didn't own to his service and wanted nothing to do with me. He mentioned that if it continues to do so to call him. I did. He told me that the car needed to be driven for a while and if it still happened to call him. I called him again to make him aware of my concerns but he said that the motor was going, meaning not functioning to what it was supposed to. Now I was upset, he knew that the motor purred and commented on how well the car was maintained when I first dropped it off at his shop.
After all this do you think that I wanted to do business this inconsiderate, inhuman, rip off artist? I also called him recently to let him know about the transmission but his response while I spoke to him was: "Let me talk or I'll hang up." So I hung up on him.
Now, you understand why I am going further with this situation. My daughter and a family mechanic friend went to the shop to talk with him about what can be done with the situation since he didn’t want to hear me. They were treated like dirt and verbal allegations were said that they were on drugs. That is totally unethical and that person (the owner, Amin) is truly affecting AAMCO's reputation. I'm ready to go to Trouble Shooting & AMVIC to tell them my story which I'm sure he'll deny, but it's worth a try.
What I truly want is respect for my intelligence and my transmission fixed so I can drive my car. I'm too good of a person to be taken advantage of in this manner.
Yours truly,
Doris Chaput
