My son has an iPad 1. He lives in South Carolina and I live in Utah. They do not have a phone or a computer with which to communicate with me. So the only way he can do this is to go to a spot that offers free WiFi. When I was visiting him and his family recently, he back up over the baby's bag that contained his iPad. The only thing that was broken was the outside volume control of his iPad. Thank you for making the outside of the iPad the way you did. I know you didn't make it to withstand the weight of a car, but it worked that way for us. Without his iPad there would be no way for me to
communicate with my son.

I sent in my ipod for repairs OR replacement. Before I did, I spoke to a customer service rep and expressed my concern about getting a refurbished product back. I was assured that though it was chance, I would get a call before a replacement is sent to me (if my unit couldn't be repaired). No calls, and just received a refurbished unit. I find out from a supervisor that I had no chance of NOT getting a refurbished item and they don't call before shipping. They don't even try to repair your unit. To them repair=replacement. GREAT! Now i'm stuck with a refurbished item I don't want and Apple doesn't care that they mislead and mis-informed their customer.
