Central Boilers Leak
At first I thought I made the right decision by purchasing the Central Boiler CL5036 four years ago. Two years ago it started leaking. I called the company and they paid for the tank to be welded. Now 4 years later it is leaking again. I was told by Central Boiler this time all they will do is weld the hole again. They do not understand that when you pay for a product like this, there should be no problems for at least 15-20 years I would guess. They admitted they have a design problem with the unit. A support piece on the outside of the tank was welded to the firebox and that causes the leaks. Think twice before you buy a Central Boiler.

E Classic 2300 Problems
We purchased a new EClassic 2300 in the fall of 2008. Installed it and ran it from Dec on to heat our house and hot water. The unit worked very good up until the spring of 2010. Just prior to that we received a letter and instruction manual from CB to fix a problem with condensation. To late! The firebox rusted or broke through. We contacted our dealer, who knew about the problem, passed the info on to CB. They called within the week to say a replacement unit will be on its way. Great we said! About 4 weeks later (good thing it wasn't winter, we live in Mass) the unit showed up. Prior to that we had to get the unit disconnected, two water circuits, gas line, electric and the lights we had installed to see in the firebox. Changed the unit out and then contacted the gas company and the plumber to hook it all back up. Along with the "New" thermostat to prevent the condensation. After spending about $1200 we fired up the reconditioned older unit. It dropped gallons of black water, CB says from the condensation. We ran it for about 3 days to heat our pool, it worked as expected. The next time we went to start it, no go.. Called the dealer, two weeks later and a replacement part and it works again... CB says that they covered the warranty beyond what is required... We have no confidence at this point with the unit. CB will not pay for any of our costs. One more issue we go back to oil..

central boiler E Classic
This has go to be the biggest piece of junk I ever owned. The first thing that went was the gasget around the door. Nothing but a piece of rubber so when you open the door to load the machine the fire comes out and burns it. Next thing I found out is don't think you are going to burn any wood in it it better be perfect dry and fully seasoned wood or it will just go out and will not heat. Dealer figure out suare footage I was heating and told me eight cords a year. I used twenty three last year and it looks like about twenty five this year. Now the whole burn chamber is burned out. Dealer say's this is normal CB will give me the part this year less shipping and I have to install it. Next year I'm on my own. All the medal around the air vents is cracked and warped from the heat. Dealed say's don't worry about it this is normal. I have been heating with wood for a lot of years with different types of wood stoves and have never seen the wear and damage that this thing has in less than two years.

Central Boiler E-Classic 2300 Leaks after 1.5 years
I purchased a CB E-Classic 2300 in 2008. I used it for 1.5 seasons before it sprung leaks in late January of 2010. The leaks not only drain the water within a day to the point where the stove shuts down, but they shoot water directly into the firebox where it then drains into the reaction chamber preventing any heating. So obviously this stove is done. Luckily the 25 year Warranty will get me a new boiler, but the cost and inconvenience is all mine. I am only able to heat 1/4 of my house and none of my office until a new unit arrives. I must pay all disconnect and reconnection costs as well as blowing out my heating system so it doesn't freeze while I'm waiting. And by the sounds of it, CB will not send me a new boiler until they have a truck full of boilers to head in my direction. I can appreciate the fact that they don't want to waste the fuel to ship one unit, but I will have to burn 10x that in kerosene to keep 1/4 of my house warm until then. I am told by the distributor that CB will not reimburse for any of these costs. No worries CB, winter in Maine is typically mild! I just bought this $11,000 boiler because it looks good in the yard!!!

Our CL4436
We love our boiler, but to give us more efficiency and less smoke, we want to install a draft inducer which we purchased through our dealer. The draft inducer came without installation instructions, which we frustratingly need. Our dealer was surprised that we need one. We don't NEED it, but for efficiency and to continue our part for a clean environment, we want to install this. Please help us with instructions, schematics, and availability of someone to speak to. We appreciate your assistance.

Classic 6048 Outdoor Wood Boiler
we have a Classic 6048 outdoor wood boiler to heat a 3000 sq ft greenhouse. I am having trouble keeping a positive draft to get the wood burning instead of just smoldering when the temperature of the water falls and the draft is open. We have an extra (3rd) stovepipe installed. I think that the draft intake is just too small for the large firebox (p-poor design). A "draft inducer" has been ordered, but this should be standard equipment on this larger boiler. Anyone else out there have the same problem? Also, even when the door is open, if smoke is not pouring out the door, flames are. I've been burning wood for 30 years and never had flames come out the door unless I threw a chunk in that pushed them out.

It has saved us big bucks in oil, but I smell like bonfire, and have melted a few eyelashes in the process.
