Flights January 01/09 and January 17/09
When my husband and I travelled with Delta to Europe we had several connections.
We left Vancouver BC at 5:40 a.m. and were booked to sit together for the flight to Salt Lake City. When we arrived in Salt Lake City we had a very quick connection to Atlanta (not siting together... we asked someone to switch with us, which they graciously did)
When we left Atlanta to go to Barcelona, Spain, once again, we were not siting together... we again asked someone to switch, they gladly did for us (a nine hour flight and we were NOT booked to sit together).
Upon our return flights home we left Barcelona (not siting together... asked someone again if they would switch).
Upon landing at JFK Airport we had to go through customs, retreive our luggage, re-check our luggage in again, and go through security once again. Our connection time was 1 hour... we were at the back of the plane. next to the bathrooms every time.
We almost missed our connection. when we landed in Atlanta we again had a very short turn around time and were running through the airport again... and yup, you guessed it, we were NOT booked to sit together for the final leg of our long journey home.
After 17.5 hours of travelling we landed in Vancouver only to discover our luggage had been lost (did not make the Atlanta to Vancouver plane). That was Saturday night, we got our luggage on Tuesday night... in the mean time, we spent the night we arrived in Vanoouver with nothing but the clothes we had travelled in for 17.5 hours.
This was our first and LAST booking with Delta...
