Noidea what all the complaints are about!! Totally amazing day!
After reading the reviews previous to my event I was really worried about going.
I was on the Lamborghini V Ferrari Experience.

Although I have driven many cars, on the day I was very nervous.
I also couldnt see over the steering wheel so my instructor found me a cushion! He was very calming and by the second lap was quite relaxed and really enjoying it. I couldnt have asked for a better instructor.

By the time I cam to do my Ferrari laps I was more relaxed and again the instructor was great.

I paid for the photos which were pretty good and also took my daughter with me on the 4x4 experience which was certainly an eye opener.

There was a bit of queing but this has to be expected.
I have been to a few track days before, therefore the whole day was as I had expected it to be and could not find any fault with the day at all!

I would definately recomend the day (We booked Bruntingthorpe) and would return again hopefully in the near future.

It's not all it seems!!
Very disappointed with the day, maybe our expectations were too high?!
When signing in, my husband was asked for his'voucher' to verify who he was. He handed over the confirmation email with the confirmation number on, but it wasn't good enough. We explained that I bought this day as a gift for Christmas and we were sure we didn't have the voucher anymore. It does state that the voucher and the confirmation email should be shown, but as Christmas was a long time ago we didn't keep the voucher. So we had to pay another £129 or my husband couldn't drive. We were given a phone number to ring on the Monday to verify who we were and we would get a refund. We were also told that £25 of the £129 wouldn't be refunded as this would be for 'administration fee'!

So...after queueing for the test lap in a Subaru we were told to go to another flag and wait to drive the car. We waited around for quite a while then realised that you had to book in with a lady with a clipboard (which we weren't told). The time finally came and he got in his dream car...three laps later he got out and was very happy.unitl I pointed out that I had paid for four laps not three. The mood was already bad so we decided to mention it on the way out so it didn't happen so someone else.

We made our way to the exciting 4x4 experience only to realise that the clapped out landrover we had watched going past was the vehicle used for the 4x4 experience, so we gave it a miss.

We went to get the certificate for the day and a young girl wrote his name on a card.just like the kids get for their school sports day! The least they could have done was have it computer printed and made it look a little more professional!

First thing Monday morning I phoned the number to get the money refunded. A lady told me that it would take up to 10 working days for the money to go back into our account. I stressed that it was very important for the money to go in asap or we would be in financial difficulty, but she said the manager was off and they couldn't do it. I was told that she had a 'big pile' of paperwork to go through as lots of people had to pay again on the day...how many £25 'admin fee' have these people made of unfortunate ones like ourselves!!!

These people are quick enough to take the money off you, but not quick to give it back!!!

Dangerous, shoddy and poor value for money -AVOID
I WROTE TO DDD SEVERAL TIMES WITH THE FOLLOWING. THE MANAGER DEFINITELY RECEIVED IT BUT I NEVER GOT ANY REPLY BACK, SO I HAD TO REFER IT TO THE 'HEALTH & SAFETY EXECUTIVE' FOR AN INVESTIGATION.

18 May 08
Dear Simon,

Please could I submit the following complaint for DDD’s consideration. I attended the Rally Evo vs Subaru experience at Stratford on 26 Apr 08 (1330-1600ish)

Safety
• Two of my stage runs had to be aborted due to a random grey Audi estate appearing on the stage (to the bemusement and annoyance of my instructor).
• I highlighted to Martin that the brake pedal on the Subaru was getting longer and longer as we were driving on the tarmac. He said to continue and by the time we pulled up at the end, the pedal went right down to the floor (in a car which he described as an old, tired shed).
• In 15 years of trackdays, sprinting, racing schools and experiences, I have never ever been round a track without a helmet, yet this was the norm for instructors (which sets a very bad example) and students were advised that a helmet was not necessary. This was despite triple figure speeds on the tarmac and exactly the same danger in the event of mishap as any other motorsport activity where helmets would always be worn.

Road cars
• The cars were billed as ‘purpose-built rally cars’ on the website but they did not appear to be in practice.
• Several were road cars (albeit with with look-alike graphics) and standard seats and seatbelts (another safety point –proper harnesses are required).
• I cannot remember if they all had rollcages or not –but they need them.

Overall, I felt there was a serious lack of basic ‘Duty of Care’ safety observance going on.

Instruction
• We did not receive a much of a technique briefing before getting in the car and overall I did not feel I was taught much in the way of techniques (the website promises you will be taught powerslides and other rally driving techniques)
• However, the coaching was quite good. Martin, Pete and the other instructor who did the loose stage (I forget his name) were all great with their tips in the car.
The driving
• The driving was great fun
• The driving time was pretty minimal for the cost
• We wasted quite a bit of time chatting in the car after the stage or with cars/instructors sat idle while the passenger rides were all done –this could have been used to give more driving time (3-4 hours at the venue for 15-20mins total driving and a passenger ride is not a great ratio)
• The stage was noddy. To avoid driveshaft problems we were directed to trundle gently round the hairpins at each end (fair enough) and only accelerate after coming out of them (the website promises handbrake turns which did not materialise in practice). However, after departing the hairpin there’s only the long right-hander and some zig-zag cones to negotiate before trundling round the far hairpin.

If the above comments seem harsh, they are made after comparing the day with my subsequent days at Silverstone circuit’s rallyschool and PJM Sport at Brackley. Both the above had properly prepared rallycars, a lot more driving time and a long and complex stage, for similar cost. At Silverstone they also provided a full colour hand out detailing rally techniques, car spec and other info as well as a written driver report –the experience felt a lot more professional, overall.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Be very aware that you may not get what you paid for
After buying two vouchers for the Ferrari 360 experience we booked our day at Bruntingthorpe on 9th November. No email confirmation was received as promised and I eventually got the confirmation after several phone calls just one week before our date and turned up for our drives at 2.30.
Check in was fairly straight forward but we noticed that the free 4X4 passenger ride had just been scribbled off the voucher with no explanation although there was a 4x4 there. When I booked I specifically asked for the 4x4 ride and was told that this was only at Bruntingthorpe but was definitely available on the date I had booked so why didn't we get it?
We were directed to the wrong place to queue for the practice lap Ferrari drives and waited in freezing cold weather for almost an an hour before being finally acknowledged and told that we were in the wrong place!. We moved to the new queue (A long queue next to a stick with a ferrari sign on it(very classy) only to be told that the Ferrari was broken. There were several Ferraris driving round but apparently our one was irrepairable. We were then offered the Lamborghini drive and agreed to this after complaining and pointing out that we had booked the Ferrari 360 experience. We were then told that the Lamborghini needed a tyre changing so then had to wait well over half an hour again. The actual driving experience was good on the track but the customer services and organisation are abysmal. There is absolutely no order and you wait around for hours in the cold with only one stingy free cup of tea which they mark on the voucher that you have had and if you want another it is £1.50. Don't whatever you do ask for hot chocolate as the ladies on the tea stall will cut you down dead!
Several other people we spoke to were very dissatisfied. You would expect to be treated better than this on a gift experience. Also be aware if you book that you have to pay £25 each on the day for excess waiver so that you are not liable for the first £2000 of any damage to the vehicles!
If you are thinking of buying this for a present for someone special don't! You have been warned

Aston Martin Experience was totally awesome!
The whole experience was totally awesome. Definitely do it again, the instructors are brilliant. Thanks.

poor service compounded by ignorance, incompetance and rudeness.
Last year I bought a £200 porsche v ferrari gift as a wedding present for my soon to be husband. I had to save for a long time to buy this very expensive gift, but felt he deserved it. I also had to pay extra to get a venue closer to us as the rest were a 4 hour drive away.
I bought the gift, and was sent a voucher. The voucher was wrong as it didnt even mention the venue I had paid extra for, so I telephoned to ask why and was told that I would have to return the wrong voucher by special delivery or they wouldn't accept it as returned, and they wouldnt send out a correct one (surely they should have acknowledged it was their fault in the first place!) so I spent more money returning the incorrect voucher, and about 3 weeks later I recieved a correct one.
This voucher told me to book the experience between 12-8 weeks before the date we wanted. So we rang 8 weeks before the holiday dates my husband had, and asked to book it. They didn't have the dates available yet, and we were told to ring back next week. I asked if they could ring me as it was a chargeline number, but I was told it's not company practice and I would just have to keep ringing them.
I rang back the next week to be told they only had one day available at my chosen venue over the next two months. My husband works for royal mail, and is given his holidays, so he could only make a certain day. I was told it was tough, we would either have to take their available day, ring back in a month or so to find out if any other days had become available or run the risk of the voucher running out instead.
I was annoyed and said that they must ring me back to organise this now as I had spent enough time and money on their mistake and now their poor service. I was given an email address to correspond with.
Disheartened by the lack of service so far from this company, my husband went to work and managed to rearrange his holidays, meaning that some of it was unpaid now. I emailed the address I was given to inform them of the change and to book the experience. I awaited a reply. None came, so I emailed again. Still no reply a week later so I had to telephone them again. I was told I must be wrong about the email as they have no record of one coming from my address, and that they couldnt book me in without the details. I requested that they just take them over the telephone now as I was so sick of this company and their incompetant service, but I was told I would have to wait to book in until they had found why the email had not come through!!! So I resent it whilst on the telephone to them, and lo and behold it arrived seconds later in their inbox.
We finally got my husband booked in for his experience, and were told that we would recieve a confirmation email - I asked them to post it to me aswell.
The email came through - with the wrong time and date on it, meaning I had to reply and ask for a correct one - again! Can this company get nothing right frst time?
Eventually it was sorted - 2 weeks before his experince should take place instead of the 12-8 weeks they state it must be booked by, and 6 weeks after we had tried to book it.

The day itself was fantastic - but you have to remember that these are run by the tracks, not Driver's Dream Days as a company.
We spoke to the instructors and the other staff at the track, and not one of them were impressed with DDD's conduct, and not just in our situation. We were told that there had been many complaints about this company before ours.
My advice would be to use a different company - this one isnt worth the hassle and cost.
I have since been able to buy my husband a similar day at a much cheaper price - and he is already booked in on a time and a day and the experience isnt even until next year! We booked it through the track itself and are so much happier knowing everything is sorted with no hassle, and no ignorant staff to complicate things more.

My experience.
After reading many reports and reviews on the internet about Drivers Dream Days I was somewhat wary after having already booked to go to Elvington on 18th Oct 2008 for the Lamborghini v Ferrari challenge . I have some experience of the motor Industry and general business practice and professionalism etc after running a Driving School as a Driving Standards’ Agency Approved Driving Instructor for the previous 14 years . After some initial confusion regarding a replacement voucher which is currently being sorted out by Lindsey at DDD . I booked a B7B at York for the Fri and sat night as I wanted to make a weekend out of it , and what a weekend it was , upon arrival at Elvington I was surprised to see so many people there and wondered if I would spend half the day in a queue , not to worry as at registration I was given an Itinerary which gave estimated times of drives in the vehicles of your choice , after an excellent and informative commentary drive through the circuit with one of the instructors at low speed , which gave you chance to look closely at the cone positions and the lines of turn etc , I was then directed to queue at the Ferrari post where Stewart the Ferrari 360 Modena Instructor invited the next 4 drivers to the car for a short briefing where he told us all about the car and its handling characteristics etc again very informative in my professional opinion. Upon my turn I was directed to the Ferrari and the instructor invited my wife to the car in order to take some good photos of me outside and then inside the car a welcome bonus as we expected no close up access to spectators . A first familiarisation lap then the instructor gave me some excellent talk through instruction in order for me to get the best out of the car SAFELY , at no point did I feel that I was out of control of the car even at speeds well in excess of 120 mph, after 3 exhilarating laps it was time to go back to the pits maybe a 4th lap would have been just the icing on the cake but I appreciate that it would probably run the clock down . Next I cue for the Lamborghini Gallardo and don’t have to wait long before once again the Instructor invited the next few drivers over , the car was presented immaculately , as were all the other vehicles . Off we go in the Lamborghini and having already done 3 laps in the Ferrari my confidence was high and the Instructor encouraged me to make it more challenging and my speed and times definitely increased over the next few laps again 4 laps would have been better but nevertheless the experience was amazing , the final trip of the day was in a Subaru Impreza WST high speed saloon driven as a passenger by a skilled race driver or rather I thought by an absolute nutter but still very skilful ( joke ) an amazing demonstration in high speed car control and confidence in the vehicle . I also purchased some photos on a disk and one in a frame for £25.00 a little pricey but certainly not a rip off , good quality photos . All in all I can certainly recommend Drivers Dream Days to anyone , from the organisation and time management on display to the professionalism of all the Instructors and the well presented supercars .

Exhilarating!
Just came back from an excellent day at Elvington. The super-cars are amazing and the professionally driven thrill laps are truely breath-taking. Whilst it's great fun to drive yourself, it is only in the hands of their drivers when you really get to see what these cars are capable of!! I'm suprised by reading some of the other reviews on here - It looks like this company has got its admin in order now as we all had a fantastic time, and so did everyone else there judging from the smiling faces. We found the staff very helpful, the experience was astounding and the whole day very enjoyable. In fact they even managed to accommodate people paying on the day to drive or be driven, which is pretty good organisation to me. PS. Definitely recommend the high-speed ride in the subaru impreza at the end of the day! If you're thinking of booking... Go ahead, you'll have a fantastic time.

Puzzled.
I read some of these reviews after booking my experience and was really worried. However, after going to the Yorkshire venue I'm glad I wasn't put off. One of the most memorable days I have ever had! I drove an Aston Marin DB9 and a Ferrari and it was amazing, what an adrenalin rush. Instructors were fun and gave some great tips, they certainly didn't hold me back. There was about an hour in between cars but the staff were very chatty so no problem there either. The cars were beautiful, only wish I had some more money to go in a Lamborghini. Felt as though I should place this review as praise is hard to come by and I had no problems at any stage.

Bad Management & Adminstration
I received a voucher as a Birthday present. Like me the person who purchased the gift voucher is on a very low income, but felt that after all the upset in my life of late I caould do with a gift of a life time. However - the way this company manages and administers itself left me out a gift. Despite finding the voucher very difficult to read, I never the less managed to make out the telephone number to book my drive, the customer service rep teold me she would book me into the nearest centre and forward confirmation in the post. No post came, and on the weekend i was to take my drive - there was no way of contacting this company, as they do not operate a weekend customer service, I had to search for the address of the neareast centre, only to find that it was closed, and that I had instead been booked into the Lecester centre which is 44 miles away from my home. Despite trying to rebook I have had no response from this company. I wish my gift purchaser had review this site - as he would not have used this comapny had he done so. TO THE COMPANY YOU MUST REVIEW YOUR ADMINSTRATION AS IT IS COSTING PEOPLE A LOT A MONEY AT THERE EXPENCE. AND AT THE VERY LEAST RESPOND TO LETTERS AND EMAILS.

Terrible Company and even worse customer service - Do Not use under any circumstances!
I bought my husband a R8 Driving experience for his birthday as well as his brother in law a Ferrari driving experience, all of which totalled close to £300. Paperwork said they would get 4 laps and they only got 3. Queried with staff who assured me that I could not count even though I have it on video and I can clearly see they only had 3 laps and that was jsut the first problem of the day. Completely overpriced and not worth the money. Simon at the company is so unhelpful I just regret ever using them in the first place and referring them to friends.

i had a great day out blasting around in some of the latest supercars
i had a great experience with drivers dream days from start to finish.
i had to write a review on these guys as i looked at your site before we went and saw that a couple of the older reviews you had were not as positive as could have been. BUT once i phoned there offices and got through with 3 rings to a really helpful young lady, think her name was Anna- she made the whole process of getting booked in a pleasure reassuring me the whole way through the booking process
i received my confirmation a few days later, and went on my day a few weeks later at there venue at Bruntingthorpe, i believe they have venues all over the country where they take they massive fleet of the latest supercars.
when i arrived on site i was greeted at sign in by some very pleasant young ladies who booked me in and gave me an itinery of my day which included me having demo laps in a subaru impreza sti, then driving brand new Lamborghini Gallardo spider which i must say was a life changing experience. The instructor in the car ith me Mike reassured me and got me going so fast within such a short time aroungfd the 2 mile track, with a great selection of slow and really really fast corners. i think i was doing 110mph through one of the first left handers.
once finished here i had a break and a free cup of coffee and a burger. then once i had caught my breath it was off to my second drive in a Lamborghini Mucielago, 1 of 3 there on the day- i had the kermit green one with a really funny instructor Henry, who also really encouraged me on how to go much faster through the bends and we hit over 150mph down the main straight. These cars were something special, but it wasn't finished there as part of my experience had me finishing off my experience with a high speed passenger ride in the latest subaru impreza STi with a real real nutter CHRIS, he was a rally driver and boy did it show with how sideways he kept the car. All in all i had a great experience from start to finish so do not know where the unhappy reviewers had been as my experience was 10 out of 10 in every area.
would really recommend them to anyone, i will definitely be back next year to drive some of the other great cars they have.

Good
I have just returned from a drivers dream day lamborghini experience in Leicester and I thought it was great, yes they only give one free tea or coffee per person and (at the site we was at) they only had the free 4 x 4 off road drive for one per person taking part in a paid experience but so what? It was a great day and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We managed to book up no problems, I e mailed and they gave me available dates and then I called back the next day to confirm the date I wanted. I didn't have any real difficulty in getting through on the phone either, I was on hold one time for a few minutes and the other time I was put right through.
You do have to queue for a bit as well but I didn't think that it took anything away form the experience and I never spent a very long time in any queue.

Not worth the money!
I booked an Aston Martin vs Ferarri day for my boyfriend with drivers dream days back in November 2007. The voucher came through the post a few days later, but it was only a paper voucher which was all screwed up and even the writing was printed wonky! I called the office to request another one but they said they could not send another out. In the end i explained that it was a present for someone and i would like a nice looking voucher, in the end they emailed me through a copy which i printed off and had this laminated myself.
My boyfriend is in the army and it was hard as it is trying to sort a date out, everytime i called to book a date, they only had like 2 days in a whole month that you could choose from and they were getting filled up very quickly! In the end the only time i managed to book was in August 2008! My boyfriend and I travelled to the track in Warwickshire which took about 2 and half hours, we were both NOT impressed with the day at all. You book in at a desk and they give you a piece of paper with your time to drive on, then u just have to queue up by a post behind loads of other people until your turn. You had ONE free cup of tea for the whole time you were there, they even take your piece of paper from you and tick it off that you've had it! You would have thought paying the amount you do for a driving experience, hanging around like you do that they would offer some FREE refreshments!
The timings were poor, there was a female infront of us that said she had been waiting an hour for her husband to be called and we were behind her!
My boyfriend finally got to drive his 2 cars but only 3 laps in each, which is over in about 5 mins!
Overall, my boyfriend and I were very disappointed with the day! And to think that i got my voucher on offer and it was more than that originally, well i personally think its NOT worth the money at all!
I will never be booking something like this again.

Drivers Dream Days response
Hello,

I work for Drivers Dream Days and felt compelled to place a general response to the review below.

We are a large experience company with 1000's of customers attending our experience days every year. There are times in any business when misunderstandings happen and we do try to reasonably resolve them, but we cannot appease everybody.

If anybody does have a query please feel free to email me at simon @ driversdreamdays.co.uk (remove the spaces)or phone us on 0871 230 1002 and talk to any of our staff.

AWFUL HORRIBLE PEOPLE!
Tese people specialise in ruining peoples birthdays by the looks of it. I purchased a Lamborghini thrill drive for my boyfriends 20th birthday, when the voucher arrived it was impossible to read so i requested another one, which after numerous calls never came. Booked the day using his details but after 2.5 hours driving to the track ( which we had to guess as no confirmation e-mail with exact name of track was sent as promised) were told he could nt take part as didnt have voucher. it was paid in full and they had all of his details written down in front of us. They offered us the ride, but at an additional cost of £115.00. had no choice but to leave, both very upset. We were not offered a refund, they will not acknowledge that this was their fault, i'v had nothing for my money, and looks like i'll have to take further legal action, as advised by everybody else who's used them.

Be carefull,

DO NOT USE THIS SITE, VILE PEOPLE!!

Best Driving day out!!
I can assure anyone who is considering a day out with Drivers Dream days to go ahead and book it. It is the best driving experience day company around and best for value. They did have problems earlier in the year with telephone lines due to the office move, but now you get through in seconds. the team are great fun and the Instructors are very experienced and there to push you along and to get the best out of the day. I called Tel: 0871 230 1002. please dont be put off by the above, there were loads of people on teh day taht i went and everyone was smiling and having a great time.

Contact Information
To those who need it I occasionally work in the offices of driversdreamdays.co.uk it is a very busy company and the level of business has ballooned in the last 12 months. The directors are aware of this and are expanding the office to meet the demand. There is just the main line 0870 990 9347 that is manned by the admin staff although I can give you a couple of email addresses that you can contact the office on, which are emma@ driversdreamdays.co.uk and anna@ driversdreamdays.co.uk. (ignore space between @ and driversdreamdays) If you include your reference number, chosen venue, type of experience and an approximate date, then they will respond to that. Hope this helps

Such a shame!
This was supposed to be my birthday present but I can't get hold of them in any way so it looks like small claims for me too. Completely out of order. Companies shouldn't be able to get away with this!

Posted By: Damon (212.158.104.×××), on Thursday, July 12, 2007

AWFUL !
As all other postings we have , are, having very similar problems, before pursuing through small claims would advise first contacting your credit/debit card provider for advice, in many cases they can assist. Even if this company is not a fraud they don´t deserve anyone´s business due to their appaling service. We live in Tenerife and I don´t even want to know how much it´s cost in fruitless calls! Good luck.

do not use this firm
My wife booked an Aston Martin drivers experience with this firm . I have attempted to get through to them on 6 occassions and have never been able to get through. I have also sent them three e mails via their website asking them to contact me so that i can arrange a date. So far we have not heared from them . Several letters have also been sent asking for our money back to no avail. we are now in the process of going through the small claims court to get the money back. This is a warning to all potential customers of this company, do not use them, it smells of an internet scam job in my personal opinion.

What a crap frim to have to try and deal with
Having being held on the phone for 8 calls each totalling well over 10 minutes in duration by what is a very nice phone voice and NEVER once actually getting through to the company I have also sent 2 e mails all to no avail to try to book a day for what was a £300 voucher. I have now given up trying, can someone out there give me a telephone number other than 0870 990 9347 that I may be able to make contact with drivers dream days with. Many Thanks
