this dtv is the worst thing they ever came out with. i hate it so much. channels dont come in, it resets itself, u lose channels, u get channels that dont come in and u cant earse them, they freeze up and it turns off.when its cloudy outside the channels dont come in, when it rains its not even worth watchin tv. i really hate this thing they should have left the air ways alone. tv was fine the way it was

DTV has been the biggest waste of my time and money. Reception is intermittent at best. I had better reception with my rabbit ears. I had to purchase my own converter boxes event though I qualified for the coupons. I purchased several new antennaes yet the reception is horrible. I HATE DTV. I wish the "brain children" in the government that hairbrained this idea would call me or come see me about this disastrous "better" program for all.

We did everything we were supposed to do. Bought a converter box, hooked it up, no signal.Bought a new antennae, hooked it up, no signal. Bought a new, bigger, more powerful antennae, still no signal.But we're saving money on the electric bill. We can't watch TV.

when this dtv took effect I had a very low signal the picture would freeze. Then last week the voice's on the TV were distorted now last night all I get is snow. I feel like the government has given everyone that purchased this DTV converter a SNOW JOB. What a way to get money back into the government that all they do is RIP OFF THE POOR PEOPLE

i have spend almost 300.00 on a box and 3 antennas and still have NO channels before the " ALL KNOWING GOV." got hold of our T.Vs i was getting 23 channels "THANKS ALOT A**HOLES IN THE GOV." ANOTHER OF YOUR BRIGHT IDEALS! A CABLE AND SAT." BAILOUT"

DTV - more hinderance than help.

Problems with DTV:
1. Missing Channels
2. You must adjust the Antenna evrytime you change channels
3. Channels suddenly lose signals for minutes at a time with the dreaded frozen screen. Sometimes it seems like the signal fades right when an important event or comment is being made. "...it wasn't the butler that did it, it was the." --frozen screen!! There's got to be a solution for this nonsense. Come on techies, figure this one out!

I am one of the ones that was refused coupons because they think I live
in a business that has cable access. Other people who live here got the
same treatment. Their appeal process has been useless - no response or
else confirmed denial. These coupons are being distributed in a manner that is far less than satisfactory. They offer no way to access them,
or to try to correct problems that exist. Very frustrating.

The only thing I can say, is I am saving money since my tv is never on anymore! The channels I normally watch are not available since the switch and the ones I am left with I never watch!!

I got the box to convert to dtv and still don't have any stations. I was then told I need to buy a booster that will soak me for another $50 to get one station (a PBS station at that). I feel that I have been cut off from important news and weather alerts due to this digital switch. I think it sucks!

All the "teckies" say digital is so much better than analog. Well if it is, Why is it that I went from all my usuall stations down to one?(which by the way is analog). I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH ANALOG, it was reliable. Digital is turning out to not be reliable. it keeps cutting out, always get no signal screens. I don't see whee the improvement is other than the increase revenue to cable and satalite tv companies. Yes I did buy a digital tv and antenna.(the best I could find that I could afford). No, I can not and will not subcribe to cable or satalite, cannot afford monthly fees. So I guess in a few days I will be without any tv. Thank you for helping us and making our lives better.

this dtv kinda pee's me off. i didn't ask for this, why does the gov't think they can ask me to pay for something i don't care about. is this a dictatorship. all i want is to come home, sit my ars down, turn my tv on and relax. i cannot afford this nonsense. am i making it harder than it already is?

Welcome to what Government run healthcare will be like. Everything the gov. touches becomes more inefficent and expensive.

I live in a rural area and have been informed by the FCC I will no longer have access to news and weather. This is really scary since the hurricane season begins in June. Once again the U.S. Government is treating us like mushrooms.

DTV poor quality is on purpose, government is forcing people to subscribe to cable or sat so they can add taxes and fees like they do on your phone bill.

and my hat is off to the smart makers of the converter boxes. Must have been good lobbying. Someone is making a lot of money while taxpayers are going to pay for coupon and then again at the stores. I now will NOT be able to use my beloved and trusted companion; my handheld color Casio TV-1900. It was my favorite gift I have ever received. I hope the "powers to be" can't use their car TVs either.

DTV is another " Fleecing of the American People". And our own goverment has joined with Big Corporate America to rip us all off. I'm mad as hell but I am also heart broken that the people we have trusted with our liberties have sold us out. over and over again. With what once was free now we are forced to pay for. Who got rich off this one.

Had good antenna reception on analog & since our "digital" is better transition I get 2-3 channels OK & that's hit & miss & have tried every combination of hook-ups the converter instructions had. I thought the "BIG" switch was supposed to be done by Feb. 17th & now extended to June (TV Stations have had 1 yr. minimum to do this transition). So, my questions are why the hell is this so much better & when will you really smart "looking out for the American Public" Govt. people actually make the TV stations do what supposed to have been done already? It's just one more example of we, the ("little guys a.k.a. the working/tax paying American middle class")getting fooled 1 more time.

had 20 channels before if dtv is better why only 2 channels now

I don't see a VALID REASON, why an expiration date was even issued on the cards. Whats the purpose of an expiration date if you can only receive/use 2 cards anyway?I ordered mine early & because I live on a small disability check, I could not accumulate the money needed before they expired, now they are telling me " SO SAD, TOO BAD" , I'm S.O.L. The pres. gave us more time to switch, but my tv viewing area ( Gainsville, FL.)is going ahead with the 02/17/09 date, so that means I will be without tv even sooner than the rest of the world.If I EVER get tv again, I will not be a consumer of a.b.c. OR it's affiliates because they cared so little for those of us out here between a rock & a hard place, I hope their ratings fall WAY down because of this & I suppose they will go down with so many people without a tv to watch them with.

People should buy a converter that passes the analog signal, complain all you want but this is a one time investment. Shop smart and you get what you need for the price of a couple of months of cable tv. My only mistake is that I didn't buy a converter that passes the analog signal, my fault.
I get at least 9 digital channels, but when I buy a UHF antenna I expect my reception to get better( I have a cheap Philips antenna).
Now that Obama might extend the deadline for the digital conversion
people should have time to make the right adjustments. Thanks.

I got the box and the best anntena forget it i had 3 times as many chanles with annlog . and when a cell phone rand it did not effect the tv now it does as does the wind and the rain this is a joke now all I get is regilous tv not even the nbc or the cbs or abc

dtv is so much better i can only pick up 1 channel get 7 or 8 analog channels. thanks government!you suck just like dtv!

I am so disgusted with this junk everything the gov. promises whas a joke I had to bye a antenna and still it did not perform and the little frequency was like watching a Japan movie lips move and words were off. and all I can get is spanish stations. I am really disgusted and their is no commedy stations you talk about gov. brain washing I conclude!

This dtv has got to be the worst thing they have ever made. I tried to hook my grandmother's box up and it wouldn't even pick up none of the local channels,only 3 off the wall channels. As for mine, everytime the weather gets bad, it loses signal or freezes up. Right now, my local channels have lost signal and i don't even know why and it's the same with my mothers. They have got to come up with something better than this.

I just hooked my dtv converter box to my tv that showed a beautiful analog picture. Now I get a beautiful picture that freezes or loses its signal every 3 seconds; it's impossible to watvh a tv program. Furthermore, the government needs to tell everyone receiving a coupon for a converter that you need to buy another antenna that receives a high frequency signal. Otherwise, the picture will go out or freeze up.
Also, if those satelites became damaged we the American citizens will not be able to see what is going on (no satelite no tv or radio signal). We have allowed the government to put us in a big big big mess.

I received my cards in the mail, but local vendors out of stock sold out for MONTHS. Who bought them, everybody I know has the same problem. Our local Wal-Mart finally got some more converter boxes in but now my cards are expired. Tried to re-apply ... denied ... each time tried to appeal ... session expired. Who's making the money on this?

My application was denied. I appealed, and heard nothing. I appealed again, and heard nothing. I sent several emails, and heard nothing. I finally called. After many tries, and a long hold, I finally got through. I was told that my address was denied, and that I was not eligible for coupons, but he didn't know why.

He recommended that I just use a different address, then he hung up on me. What a great message!

recieved my coupons in april, went to radio shack, they didnt have the converter boxes in so i had to order them. received them by mail in june, had to pay postage plus the amount the coupon didnt cover. i am a senior citizen and not good with electronics so i asked my son when he was in town to hook one up for me. he did but then we could not program the remote control. went to radio shack to get some pointers and was told i needed a new antenna so i paid 35.00 for one, thought the problem would be solved, still no luck in converting. can't afford cable or one of those new fangled tvs (besides the 2 tvs i have are in good condition so it would be a waste to get rid of them. i don't know what i am gonna do, i guess i will just have to listen to radio after february. so far i spent 82.00. i wonder if there are technicans out there who hook these things up for a fee.
