this mail is to make you aware that units in jammu are wrongly taking the benefit of excise reimbursement on menthol product. the units are producing menthol and showing it as DETERPENATED OIL in the books of account and getting reimbursement wrongly from the excise department .
this benefit they are passing on to foreigners . this is leading to national loss of foreign exchange and destroying trade in uttar pradesh.

This has reference to your article in the Economic Times dated 15th August, 2007 regarding Energy Woes.

We have a simple solution where the Government or companies like IOC, HPCL, BPCL and save substantial amount by following simple factors with the assistance of the Government.

1. Subsidized gas should be available only to the poor and the needy. The house holders generally do not consume more than 2 cylinders of 16 kgs and the difference of Rs.58 will not make a difference in their budget.

2. Only Pan Card holders should get subsidy and that too at a lower amount than those living below the poverty line. In this way by creating two tier system of prices, the Government will have more tax payers applying for Pan Card if they want to save on their gas billing .
3. Commercial and establishments should be out of the subsidized rate.
