My 6-year old dropped my laptop while the flash drive was still inside. The laptop landed on the flash drive destroying the laptop's USB port as well as the flash drive. I had been using the same USB flash drive [fd] for several years which contained numerous personal files. Unfortunately one day there was a "collision" between my cat and the fd, when the fd was attached to the computer. Communication was excellent without much lag time from email to an actual phonecall explaining the status of the recovery. My laptop fell over and landed on the USB flash drive connected to the side of it. Upon observation, I could see that the connector had completely disconnected from the main body of the USB. The data was on a SD card that had been submurged in salt water while in a GoPro camera. It not only killed the camera, it made the SD card unreadable. It contained all of the underwater footage from our once-in-a-lifetime family vacation in the virgin islands, including my 16yo son's first scuba dive. When my computer wouldn't read my CompactFlash card with EVERY picture we had taken of my 2 week old daughter (including pictures of her with her grandparents who live 1000 miles away!), my wife and I were very distraught. All the computer repair shops in town told me the data on my broken USB drive was irretrievable. I work as an Assistant Director for a 2 campus hospital and my USB drive malfunctioned one morning. Everything on the USB Drive was gone. I was heart broken when I broke my USB flash drive. My IT husband was unsuccessful at restoring it suggested to send it into Eprovided.com. $20.00 for diagnosis revealed I needed advanced recovery at cost of 850.00 over. This was right before Christmas and I couldn't afford that. Bruce offered an alternative option that he couldn't guarantee would work at half cost. They were able to recover about a 1/3 of data by working on it for more that triple hours then they were supposed to. Once I agreed for the full upgrade, they applied what I already spent towards the advanced recovery. They were able to recover everything and now I double back up my files. Lifesavers might be a candy to some, but eProvided was a lifesaver beyond words for me and my company!! My USB drive broke because some drunk dude from a party tripped into it while it was still plugged into my computer. I thought I was screwed but these guys fixed it for me. Complete awesomeness! First I want to thank you for accomplishing what I thought to be the impossible. My daughter had her sweet 16 party. I got a call from the photographer that the memory card was bad and he lost all of the hundreds of pictures he took. Well, to say the least we were devastated. I had asked my step son if he could recommend a company to help retrieve the pictures. He had referred us to a company in California. I was so excited at the prospect of getting our pictures back. I had followed up with them after a few days and they told me that it was in "microsurgery". I thought that was encouraging news. After them having our card for about a week, I got that dreaded phone call, I am sorry but we were unable to retrieve any photos. They sent my card back and I thought that was the end of it. I was not ready to give up so I started doing some research on my own and came across eprovided.com. Immediately, I hit the chat button and a gentlemen by the name of Marc answered me within seconds. I explained to him my situation and he explained to me what I needed to do. I figured the $20 investment was worth it if I had a shot at getting my pictures back. I did not have alot of hope in retrieving these pictures, but I figured I had to give it a try. Marc sensed my anxiety level and spent alot of time answering my questions. In fact there were many times I hit the chat button and he was there answering my questions or just keeping me calm. I was also assigned a special number that I could go on the website and see the status of my case. I was pleasantly surprised how they kept that so up to date. I received a call that basic recovery was not an option, the disk was too damaged, and they would have to do an advanced recovery. Well a few days later I receive another email from Marc saying that they were successful in "partial recovery" and to give them another day or two. Although they could not retrieve 100% of the photos, they were able to retrieve a good amount. The only thing I wished that could have been different is a choice to pay for expedited mail service as the disk was sent regular mail and I was too excited to wait regular mail and would have gladly paid for express mail. So, I sent my USB stick in for data recovery along with a check for $20 for shipping (which doesn't make sense, because I paid the USPS $5 to ship) and analysis. They called me about a week later saying that my data was not recoverable by ordinary means, but they may be able to use an "advanced" technique for recovery that would cost $500 to $700.

Well, I declined so they sent my USB stick back and cashed my $20, which they would have if I told them to keep my USB stick, I asked.

They may just be taking $20 from desperate people and then mentioning that it cost $500 to $700 to recover the data, thereby scaring people off, while keeping the initial $20. If so, this is a great idea, for them.

My advice is to use some free software tools and if that doesn't work, be prepared to pay $500 to $700 for a "professional data recovery service" (read: some other company).

On a scale of 1 to 10, I would recommend these guys as a 1.

We received our DVD the other day with the data that was recovered. I have been able in the past to recover data from items like hard drives and cd?s, usually, or if I could not get them, it really did not matter as they were out-dated and no longer needed. Our non-profit has been setting up some newly donated computers to be used in our operations, which includes placing new hard drives into them. While normally we try to maintain copies of all files, we had one drive that was getting ready to crash, so we transferred just under 2 gigs of data to a flash drive so that we would have them in case the hard drive crashed on us.

I never got an opportunity to move the data off of the hard drive before it quit working and when I got to the point to add the information from the USB drive, it no longer worked. This drive held tons of data for our non-profit, disaster relief operations, images and more. I spend several days attempting to recover the data from this USB drive with no results. I search the internet looking for a company that might be able to save this data. After looking at several, I kept being drawn back to eProvided. I was excited that we might be able to get the data back so we sent our USB drive to them.

After they received it, the company informed us that the basic recover would not work. My heart fell to the ground, not knowing whether the data could be rescued or not. eProvided was a God send to us. The data that was on that USB drive contained all kinds of data and to some people it might not have been worth the price of recovery, but to our organization, the value of that information was worth more than what it cost us to get it back and thier service was well worth every penny.

My dog chewed up my SanDisk Cruzer so I went looking for a way to get my documents and pictures back. I found eprovided on the web by doing a google search. I gave them a call and was immediately greeted by a live representative who answered all of my questions regarding pricing, the recovery process, and walked me through filling out the online form to send in my USB flash drive.

From start to finish I was able to track the progress of my recovery online on their website and received prompt communication over the phone about the recovery options available to me. I had some concerns regarding getting all of my data back, but I felt reassured that they knew what they are doing after speaking with one of their representatives. I finally agreed to their advanced recovery and within a day they posted that my data had been successfully recovered. I signed up for the online download of the data so I had it in my hands the same day it was recovered and received a DVD with a copy of the data a few days later in the mail. I think the whole process took about 3 or 4 days.

All of the data I lost came back and I even noticed that some of my older deleted files were recovered as well. I am extremely satisfied with their service and recommend it to everyone. I now know to backup my data! But if I run into a problem again, I can trust that they can help.

eprovided.com is the worst company I have ever dealt with. They advertise the speed with which your data recovery job will be handled; however, they were extremely slow in trying to recover my data. I did not hear back from them until over a week after I sent the usb flash drive to be recovered at which point I was told I needed 'advanced recovery'. I politely asked to have my drive returned to me; they cashed my check for return shipping and never sent the drive back to me. Also, they do not respond to email!! So they were slow, and they did not return the drive. That data is lost forever.

In June 2008 I had a recent need to utilize the services provided by eProvided. Frankly, I was in a pinch and to lose the work-related files that were on the USB flash drive, would have been disastrous to say the least.

I contacted eProvided and a technician returned my call within 1 hour. Soon after getting the details about costs, process, etc., I sent my “broken” drive to him.
