Never work with these guys in India. Company name is stepinsolutions (stepinsolutions [dot] in/). No respect for clients time. No on time delivery of any functions or projects. One of the worst consultants I have ever seen in my life. Code was the worst part. Never finish code on time. Guys name are Jaldip Upadhyay & Pratik Upadhyay. Never trust on these guys, never.

I was a happy freelancer for over 4 years with over 50 positive feedbacks and many projhects done professionally, but they suspended my account, out of no reason, they brought up the verification excuse and simply rejected my National ID card to verify me which is my first proof for identification. It's like they're intentionally do this to collect small user's deposits. I had $1550 in my account. This site is really groing down, down, down the hell. I advise you guys to stay away from these so called. ever since Australians bought the GETAFREELANCER.COM and wasted a lot of money on ads only to make it worse, these acts were begun. Looks like they want to compensate their advertising investments loss out of our hard earned money. I just ask you a question: How could you justify the act of suspending the account of a user who worked hard for over 4 months and bring lame excuses and when it comes to verify him, rejecting his legal ID papers just because it's not issued in a English language country, and simply grab his hard achieved reputation and hard earned money like thi*ves. They brought shame upon this business. At least if you're not Australian, stay away from these washed up sw*ndlers. I'll definately miss the Swedish managers.

They have suspended my account without any reason. I created ticket and waiting for their response for last one week. I tried to talk with Online support then they told me that my account was suspended because of security reason. But they did not tell me reason. When i asked for my money which is in my account then they simply replied that it will be there untill they activate my account. I am not able to post PMS or reply to clients. After some time client will report project uncompleted. And it will be another loose for me. I earned 75 good points and now because of their lack of response and intention, i'll lost it.

My account was suspended 5 days ago, asking for an ID verification. I submitted my passport copy but there was no reply. Then I posted a support ticket and then two more, but nothing happened. Not even a reply. I have close to $800 on GetaFreelancer.com and had initiated a withdrawal, but that didn't happen at all. Now, they are not even letting me access my account to check my funds or anything. I have some projects running and an escrow active, and I have no idea what happens to them! I have 75 perfect reviews on the site as well.

Please anyone with a similar experience, do let me know how you got it resolved, if at all. Any information is welcome.

The system is working on large bidders(>= 300). They are just blocking the accounts without any notification. No telephone. No answer. Live Support is blocking the chat when it comes the queue in your name.

In my case, they just suspended my account and bidder's account and did not send 1000 USD that I send to the bidder. Be away from these guys. In small accounts, they are not playing with. Target is large accounts. So that they are keeping thousands of small companies and putting them as a hook for large fishes (accounts).

I Have been working from last one complete year on Getafreelancer (as per the rules and regulations designed by the Administration of getafreelancer) and before the Administration was not so. But after they handed over their business to current Management from that very day these Suspensions of the amount filled accounts and all such things has got started.

Well, under given is my experience on getafreelancer website:
i have been waiting to get my amount being transacted from GAF from last three weeks, and meantime on getafreelancer.com i got my account suspended once, then my GAF ID got CLOSED with complete amount and then after that my GAF account Edifice was made opened by the GAF Administration. After that i Requested for my amounts of 577$ (making them two 287$ and other of 290$) to be withdrawn on the Payoneer Debit Card issued to me by Freelancer and they gave me the dates of 28th and 29th December 2009 and then the amount got transacted over there.. Then on 29th i accepted both amounts after paying 5$ for each (total 10$). And on the other side i got messages from GAF Helpdesk that i got my account Edifice and Closed on GAF. I said ok, but keeping in mind that there on Planet Earth on internet as well in the books of GAF is time for Withdrawal (7 days), for Credit Cards for Chargeback (45 days* or so i am not sure) and means for everything there is time, so they will allow me the time of 24 hours or there, also is a chance to not to close my Debit Card and as it is HARD Winter this year so i was ill (got flu and severe headache) so i postponed drawing the hard cash out from any International Banks' (Citi Bank or Standard Chartered) ATM (which are much far away from my home).

After some 4-5 hours maximum i went to International ATM machines and there the ATMs of both Banks, i.e., Citi Bank and Standard Chartered stated that 'You account is blocked, Contact Issuer'..
Then i got back home while thinking that where i got wrong? then after reaching home i checked my Payoneer account, but it was closed. So i called the Payoneer Customer Support and after confirming my date of birth, card number and all person checked all and then simply stated that "we have Closed your account as per the instructions of GAF and when i asked them for money, they stated that it is stucked and will be opened only after getafreelancer NOTIFIES us to unblock the account it back"...
Now what on the Planet Earth Should i do?
Everyone is aware that freelancer has no Live Phone Support and same thing is what still hurts that how anyone can get to know what so ever this all freelancer is?? Anyway, till then in these two three days (it is 30th December 2009 when i am writing this) i have sent around 40-45 Messages (or what they state 'Tickets') to Getafreelancer regarding this all, but no response. Then i simply got on to ripoffreport and Filed a report over there.

Hello there, I am a freelancer on GAF. Recently one of my colleague who is also a freelance provider and having a great number of long term and genuine clients, outsourced me a portion of his workload toward me as. I had formed a team for his work and presently we are all working toward a large scale project.

Clients still pays to my friends account and I was used to get money physically from him as he is staying not far from me.

Recently we agreed to settle down payment online and my colleague transferred me $5000 for my work on behalf of his client. GAF had taken of 3% of the transaction, which was said to be their newly introduced charges.

Unfortunately after I requested money withdrawal, I found my account was suspended on Nov 29, 2009 with the reason, "ID verification needed".

I had forwarded my driving license details, National ID card details, Bank account details scanned. Now it was 2 weeks and I still couldn't see my money on my account.

For these 2 weeks, I opened tickets and try contact supports, nothing worked and still no one seems attended my tickets. Can any one advice me what to do please. I am in a very critical stage in needing money to pay salaries to my team before Christmas.

I would greatly appreciate, if some one can help me on this.

I'm a provider on GAF and while, I've worked for some decent folks, I've come across several buyers who would make your skin crawl. There's no way to get GAF to deal with this current issue I have with a buyer and this upsets me greatly.

I made a bid on the project for some rewrites and won. It was supposed to be a quick deal, nothing more. Suddenly this buyer has me working on something completely different than what the initial project was for. I dont have to do all that she was asking. I work a couple more times for her on rewrites and then nothing for three weeks.. suddenly she wants me to do more for less pay than what I was getting and told her I wouldn't do it. I'm afraid if I don't fulfill my obligation to her with the rewrites (45 total) that she'll give me a negative review but I'm getting to the point where I don't care anymore.

While she has paid, it's buyers like her that make me glad I'm a provider for Elance as well. Elance protects both buyer and provider and I've gotten more work from it, making the money I should be making rather than pennies on the dollar. On top of that, there's no hold back on the money. You can have $5 in the account and they'll send it to you. GAF, on the other hand, only allows you to withdraw $30 or more. How's that fair for us providers?

With everything going on with GAF, I'm thinking of canceling the account. It really sux!

I saw a couple of posts saying people are having trouble getting the getafreelancer.com website to open up. I am a member of the website and for the past 3 days or so, I can't even get the website to come up to log in, keeps saying connection timed out. Has anyone found out what's going on? All other website open up fine for me.

I have had nothing but bad experience with getafreelancer.com. I came in contact with a company called activebox thru getafreelancer.com. Well lets just say they got there money but I didnt get my website.

GAF simply awesome and highly professional site. With hundreds of projects posted daily, very nice customer support and quick resolution o issues. Recommended Highly to everyone.

Beware of provider ‘pgcoding’ he is a s cam, he’s real name is Sumit Ghosh.
I paid a down payment of 300 euros , and he never delivered anything. He tries to be very kind, but he never delivered and you can’t get your money back.
Getafreelancer doesn’t do anything about it.

By the way he introduced one Paki graphic designer,in the first week saying that he'll be away for a wedding & this Mr.Usman will send few designs; which he sent and then he vanished too.

I want to show something to all GetAFreelancer returned the escrow money by mistake. But when they realize the mistake they again restored the money to escrow. But SerReg1 the cheater number 1 I worked for him for one month constantly what ever he said to do everything the design and then he conformed me to implement that and then at last he started to give me extra work with same price. In between he cancel the project 2 times and then again asked me to do the work with same price otherwise he will not pay me.

I put $900 into escrow, thinking that my interests would be protected and that my money would be retuned if somebody tried to scam me.

A person called ITCSlive won my bid. He pretended to be a programmer but turned out to be a middleman trying to make a margin on someone else's work.

He did about 10-15% of my job and claimed he had finished and demanded my money.

After a long dispute, GetAFreelancer (GAF) finally took my money out of escrow and put it into my account on the site.

I issued a request to withdraw my money to my Pay Pal account. That request was accepted.

Two days later, GAF had themselves put $600 my money back into escrow against my wishes. They claimed they had made "a mistake" so had restored the escrow.

Two of the main principles of escrow (and why it works) are:-

1. Buyers are protected from unscrupulous providers so that if a job is not done no money is paid.

2. The only person who can put money into escrow is the buyer. GAF cannot decide to put MY money in escrow.

This is theft, pure and simple and I am following up with the Swedish police (GAF is Swedish) and will take a civil action. I shall not rest until my money is returned.

The most stupid thing about GAF's stance is that they claim not to mediate in disputes. But they do. They support the provider even when he is demonstrably 100% in the wrong.

Just avoid GAF. They might take your money.

No ability to give negative feedback about programmers who take your bid, require escrow, then don't deliver ontime, get extensions and three weeks after delivery date, just cancel the project.
AND THEN you can't leave negative feedback
AND you can't get a refund on advert
AND then they take 21 days to refund your money from escrow and charge you for doing this.

AFTER THREE FAILED PROGRAMMERS - we used a local programer who cost us 40% more, but we got it ontime, right and without hassle.

I got insulted badly by a freelancer on Getafreelancer.com but the management ignored my report and the abusive freelancer remains their member. Then my project time hads expired and I was unable to extend it since I was on vacation. I do not like GAF Getafreelancer.com at all and I will not use them. I'm surprised they are from Sweden.

I won a rare project with these guys. It paid $750.00. My client put $250.00 up front in escrow GetAFreelancer. I left it there until I finished the book. They took $75.00 out of the $250.00 leaving $175.00. So they got their full commission…
Fortunately for me, the client paid the balance in a check directly to me.
I say fortunately as GAF has blocked my account…
They offer no reason, they’ve been paid but guess what?
I can’t reach them…I can’t sign in and that means I can’t find out what’s going on…
There is no apparent email address for them unless you can log on...So there's no way to find out why you can't log on...
Now they are looking like flakes, thieves or ???

when you approach any freelancer, please do not expect him to behave like a Organization. He is just a single person or a small team...you need to contact a professional development company..to get good support.

it is me again who posted that GAF is the worst site on the inetrnet,to be fair, I am here again to appologize to GAF , as they returned back the money to my account , may be they did this to secure the rights of the provider and if it was so, that means they secure providors, again I do appologize to GAF as they prove that they really provide good service and being late returning the money back to my account shows how much they secure thier providers rights which is so fair and reasonable

very bad service, after i escrowed my money to a providor and i cancelled the bid cause he was not professional he didnt want to cancel the escrow payment and the providor tried to use me either to send him 50$ to his paypal account or he will never cancel the escrow and GAF doesnt even reply my tickets to refund the money back and it is now for them
