False advertisment
When they send you advertisment ( No payment, No interest, No fees.)
the no payment part dont believe it . When we were supposed to have 14 months of their special ( no payment , no interest, no fees. ) Well what a supprise when we found out on our bill, they now have minimum payment, even when on the back of your bill in the section
( D ) they tell you that NO MINIMUM PAYMENT DUE WILL BE REQUIRETO BE PAID UNTIL THE EXPIRATION DUE DATE. Well people that is what I call false advertisment... There is laws in Canada against that. I was told because they had problems in the US they now put this minimum payment in place without informing their customers first. Well they lost us as customer.

Don't get installation from HD
Don't fall for Home Depot's $199 carpet installation deal. First there are hidden costs. In the final bill, they will charge you $45 for "removal of shrinkwrap that the carpet comes in", and even if you ask, the installers will refuse to leave the shrinkwrap (which may at most amount to a plastic shopping bag, ridiculous) because it's part of their cut from HD. Plus, they oversell you carpet, by as much as 30% (on top of the regular 10%-15% ). Plus the installers have a deal with HD that they charge you for the same amount of underlay as the carpet, no matter what (esp with stairs and irregular installations, actual underlay is much less than carpet, as it doesn't need to be cut from a single roll as the carpet plus not all areas are underlaid). Not only that, but the installers refuse to leave you any leftover underlay (which you paid for) because they go around and use it in another job. It's an arrangement between HD and installers. Quality of job depends on installers, but outfits like HD usually deal with the most incompetent installers that cannot find jobs other way. All in all, stay away, in the end, you will pay 3 times as much for a poor job.

Carpet installation and the poorest customer service in the country!
In March of 2009, I paid $5500 to have my carpet replaced. Home Depot sent a company called US Installations to install said carpet. Well, they NOT only installed it wrong, but have taken 4 times to try to fix it, and still have not. They offered me a settlement of $400 and to clean my carpet after THEY got it dirty coming in and out. Now, have reniged on the deal. This store is located in Palm Bay FLorida and dealt with a customer services person by the name of Annil. Annil promises the world but gives you NOTHING. I think it is time for Little America to go fight Big Corporate America. I am willing to testify in any lawsuite out there that anyone might have because I believe this is common practice to take so long to compensate and hoping we will go away. Well, I'm not going away and neither should you. Please bring back the little hardware and home supply stores inwhich this Big Corporate Giant has destroyed.

Excellent service
I have been a big fan of Home Depot for years-Today I got special treatment from LaDarll Bennett,Sr. and Lola at Little Rock, AR store. They were not only helpful- they were downright enthusiastic. A real pleasure. I am writing this in front of MY new fan!!!

home depot store and workers at the store in tyler tx 75701
i have had trouble with the contractors who sell their stuff through homedepot. tuff shed and the house sidding company.
other than that this past almost a year i have seen this store make vast imporvements and care to customers. in doing this i have spent more money on things that were pointed out to me that were very good quality wise but at the right price.
one person that has stood out to me was the person at the door as soon as you came in. every time i come in nancy is waiting with a very nice smile on her face and the ability to send me where i need to go in the store. she holds a termendous amount of knowledge of the store to be able to do that. there are many people there like that but she is one of the best i have run across.
i believe this store will be a success just do to the way the people handle the customers. thank you

Excellent customer service thanks to Sabrina at store 6640
I have had several encounters with store employees that have been less than courteous.I spend a lot of time and money in your garden section, your cashier LINDA is something to be desired. Shes very unhelpful sometimes rude. I though Home Depot cared about there customers?!? That's why now, even if I have two flat carts full of plants I'll go inside and check out at register 1 with Sabrina. She is very nice and will go out of her way to help.She always has a smile on her face, Home Depot should hire MORE people like Sabrina. If it wasn't for Sabrina winning me back over with all her knowledge and kindness I would have started shopping somewhere else. Thanks Sabrina

Mr. Willie in Lumber -Zip Code 20748
My name is Mrs. Fraiser, on August 10,2008 I went in to Home Depot For shelves for my pantry. On my way to the lumber area Mr. Willie direct me to where I should go and to the persn I was to talked to and asked questions. I had with me the measurements I needed to be cut, He sort of brush me off and said I had to buy a whole sheet for $50. Mr. Willie in Lumber saw me walking back and he asked me where were my shelves I told him what the other guy said. All he could say was come on lets go back, he found me exactly what I needed took my measurements and added a little bit to what I had given him and each board was only $5.97 to be cut. I have not had a sales rep, e.g in a long time to take the time and help me and believe me I visit Home Depot all the time. I just want to Thank him for his kindness,help and being a REAL HUMAN BEING, that cares for the patrons..May God Bless.

Customer Service
This is all about customer service in the Kelowna BC Canada store. THERE IS NONE!!! a person can walk around the store for an hour, never find a clerk in a orange apron to help. When you do see a clerk, they are talking to their friends about last nights fun or whatever. There is a lady and a man who have a booth (vendor) in the store, they are the ones who are really helpful, show us where things are and go out of their way to find a staff member. The plants in the store a dead, most have bugs and are never removed from the store. If this is customer service I am surprised, as I have done custoemr service all my life, and if I treated customers this way I would have been fired on the spot. Thanks for listening, and I hope things will change..until then its off to Rona or Home Hardware for me and my friends.

Terrible customer service!!!
I ordered some air filters and they never arrived. UPS said they got the billing info but never received them. HomeDepot.com supervisor admitted the error on their part and offered to issue an RMA # to "return" the item (which is ridiculous b/c I never even got it). Worst part...it would take 4 weeks to issue the refund!!! Any other company would offer to cancel the order and issue a refund immediately. I will NEVER do business with them again.

Store 6664 - employee Karl
I recently went to your store 6664 in cal. w/my daughter to purchase a new toilet. Karl waited on us and we were very much impressed by his knowledge of the product line and answered many questions. After a decision was made, he told her she probably would need a sealer and picked out what we would need, thus saving us another trip back.
You are fortunate to have such a level headed young man in your employ.

Customer service---
I have had several encounters with store employees that have been less than courtious. Several have been what I consider rude. When I have called their attention to a problem or critized them in any way they become very defensive rather than trying to correct the problem and apologize for it having occured in the first place. With the level of competition you have I would think your prime concern would be good customer relations. There is a Lowes two miles further down the street. I have started using them even though it takes a little longer on each trip. I am even considering selling my Home Depot stock.

Carpet Installation
Home Depot was running an installation special so I went to store number 2834 on 5/18/2007, I quickly picked out the carpet I wanted and then spent over 30 minutes filling out forms for a measure. My house was measured on 5/29/2007. The next day I was contacted with the price of over 4700 dollars which was fine except the installer would not remove or haul away my living room carpet due to a pet stain, yes, the stain was present but the area had been cleaned and did not present any health risk to the installer, those of us working in hospital's take a very real risk every day. When I returned to the store for a refund of my deposit I had to speak with two different people only to be told the one person who could refund my $35 was at lunch and could I return in an hour, which living more than 30 miles away I did only to wait while Brad was paged and then he couln't give me the money a second man needed to be summoned. Given my hourly wage I spent more standing around than I was to recieve as a refund. Further, no one cared why I was cancelling the order and to say I was treated rudely is putting it mildly. I have spent thousands of dollars on custom fencing, blinds, ceiling fans, etc. at this particular store, I will not return.

CUSTOMER SERVICE
My name is Ray Gerard Sr.STARTING at the end of last year I have purchased 4 items from home depot within 6 months and each time after recieving a call ,telling me that my order has arrived and would I please pick up my order which I tried to do and on the occasion of picking up my insulation,which I had to pick up at 6am I arrived and presented my reciept,only to find out they sold my order to a higher bidder and that if I wanted to keep my order I would have to wait another 2 weeks and again they would call me.Next I just purchased a storm door for my home to go along with the new siding that was installed on my house and was told I would have to pay anadditional $20.oo to special order that door because was not in stock and again they would call me when it came in,which they did after a wait of 2 weeks.I then presented my bill of sale to the customer service clerk and was told I would have to wait 15-20 minutes and it would be brought out to me.I waited and was getting a little frustrated and was letting my feelings known to the young lady there when an assistant manager told me to ahve patience and it would soon be delivered to me.A fter another 20 minutes I TALKED TO THE MANAGER OF THE CUSTOMER service Dept and again was told that he would go into the back and see what was holding it up.Another 15 minutes went by and the Mgr. brought up my door.I think that Home Depot will get a lot of bad reviews when anyone /everyone I talk with asks me what I think od Home depot.THEIR SERVICE STINKS AND I WILL NEVER SPEND ANOTHER PENNY NOT ALONE MANY DOLLARS,GOODBY HOME DEPOT YOUR PEOPLE ARE JUST ALOT OF LAZY PEOPLE.NOT YOU IRV,YOU ARE A ROSE AMONG ALL THE MANY THORN BUSHES THEY HAVE WORKING THERE.Ray Gerard.

Tom Valenti Cherry Hill, New Jersey store
I had large wooden stars/flags to hand on the outside of my home. I had purchased metal clips to fit in the siding but, was having a problem with the stars fitting the clips. Tom (in Hardware) took the time to figure the best way to solve my problem. I cannot tell you how helpful he was !! I appreciate his patience. He is a "star" for your store.

CARPETING INSTALLATION
I HAD THE MISFORTUNE OF HAVING HOMEDEPOT USING U S INSTALLATION TO INSTALL MY CARPETING. IT HAS BEEN NOTHING SHORT OF A NIGHT MARE. THEY HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE CARPETING TWICE AND IT STILL IS A VERY POOR JOB. THEY HAD TO COME BACK AFTER THE SECOND INSTALLATION TO REPAIR SEAMS. THEY STILL DO NOT LOOK PROFESSIONAL. MY SON AND I HAVE HAD TO GLUE THE CARPET TO THE TACK BOARD WHEN IT WOULD NOT STAY. I COULD NOT DEAL WITH HAVING THEM RETURN. I BELIEVE THAT HOME DEPOT SHOULD LOOK ELSEWARE FOR BETTER INSTALLATIONS. US INSTALLATION SAID THEY WOULD COMPENSATE ME ( A VERY SMALL AMT) AND THEY HAVE NOT KEPT THEIR WORD.

Service at store 0671
My wife and I entered the store May 19, 2007. Chris saw us looking for a few plumbing items and cheerfully found them right away. He knew his stock very well and went out of his way to help us. We then went to the lighting dept. and got the same type of service from Rey. He called other stores to find the light fixture we wanted and arranged for us to get it right away. It was a very pleasant experience.

Review of Ric k White, Lighting Dept., Store 3642, Statesville, NC
On January 23, 2007, I was looking for some replacement external fluorescent units. Mr. White determined that the units I was seeking were not presently in stock at Home Depot. So as to fulfill our urgency of timing, however, he very kindly spent approximately 30 to 45 minutes calling other warehouses in the Statesville area. He finally found them and had them ready for my pickup the following morning. I truly appreciate this effort and it is something not often seen in our present time. Thanks Ric! I have always found this outstanding customer service attitude at Home Depot.

David was wonderful to deal with , after we checked 5 other home depots in the phoenix area and spend a whole day checking for what we wanted . My Second Home
I love the home depot. If I'm not at home I am probably shopping at the Home Depot. Their stores carry so much stuff, I never walk out empty handed. I rented a floor nailer from their rental department which is a really nice feature.
