Never let me down
Only good things with mapquest! I always get to where I'm going and in a timely matter since you give me the quickest route! It's cool to be able and calculate how far and how much gas will cost too. Nice!

Your site is awful! Unclear, not user friendly
Your site is not user friendly, what in the heaven's name happened here? This site used to be a go-to for me and I failed to get anything to work today. I don't want to watch a video, I want to find a location, not sort through all this junk you now list. Question: Are you reading these reviews? Might be a good business decision to read them and take some action!!!

Mapquest put my family in a dangerous situation!
I mapquested San Francisco, CA to Berry Glenn, CA 95555. Berry Glenn, CA 95555 is actually 2 miles north of Orick, CA on route 101. Mapquest routed us INTO the Redwood National Forest, up miles of winding, gravel, logging roads looking for something that WASN'T THERE in the dark, fog, and snow. Mapquest basically put us in a VERY dangerous situation by putting us in the middle of nowhere, where there is no cell phone reception and very dangerous road conditions. I realize that Mapquest has a disclaimer, but believe me, if anything had happened to us or our 1.5 year old daughter that was in the car with us, we would have gladly spent our life savings to sue the crap out of mapquest for sending us in the completely wrong direction. If mapquest doesn't know what the hell it is doing, then it needs to get out of the map business or just say it doesn't know how to map the route. I will be telling everyone I know not to use mapquest after the dangerous situation mapquest put our family in.

MapQuest is great.
I have no need for GPS. Everytime I take my family on long trips likek out of state soccer tourniments, MapQuest has always provided accurate directions and maps, as well as time estimates. I've used this site, free of charge, for about 10 years and highly recommend it.

Problem
Sometimes I have a problem getting driving directions. A map comes up instead, with no driving directions. I don't want a map, I want driving directions. Most of the time it works well for me, but not today, again.

Missed the movie
I am going to the Avalon Theatre in DC from Northern Virginia. Mapquest says to "Turn RIGHT onto DUPONT CIR NW." and then "Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto CONNECTICUT AVE NW.". If you follow these directions, you will be going in the opposite direction of the theatre and end up at the Washington Memorial. Anyway, I heard it was a good movie:(

Missed a wedding because of unclear instructions
When you search from 400 Courthouse Sq Alexandria to 2665 Woodley Road, NW, Washington, DC 20008, towards the end of the trip, it says "17: Turn RIGHT onto DUPONT CIR NW. 18: Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto CONNECTICUT AVE NW." Dupont Circle is a roundabout and there are two exits to Connecticut Ave NW and BOTH ARE A SLIGHT TURN TO THE RIGHT BECAUSE IT IS A ROUNDABOUT. We turned on the first right and got totally lost and missed the wedding. We should have taken the second right to connecticut avenue and we would have seen woodley Ave. Mapquest should have said that or it should have given us totally different directions where there would not have been any such confusions.

I now see that Google gives better and accurate information. All our friends who followed google were on time for the wedding. I also searched and noticed that Google would have given me different directions which were not confusing. Mapquest is terrible. PLEASE USE GOOGLE MAPS DIRECTIONS INSTEAD IF YOU DO NOT HAVE GPS OR IF HANDHELD GPS GOES OUT OF CHARGE.

Elverson, Pa.
Directions to St. Mary of Providence Retreat Ctr. via 30W bypass should
be to exit at 322West and go 6 miles;right on Rt.82 North for 2 miles, left on Lewis Mill Rd.,right on Wyebrooke, then, at stop sign, follow New Rd. Using Rt.282 is a back road, and the directions given on Mapquest cause confusion. Thank you!

error found
Any time we have went on to mapquest it has been great getting the directions. Wonderful site. The only thing we have found is we live on Wilmette St., Port Charlotte, FL 33980 and upon viewing the map, Wilmette and Algiers and been switched. It's Annette, Wilmette, Algiers. Somehow there has been an error as our GPS unit also shows this error. What can be done about this. Thank you MaryJo

Safety issue that so far Ulocate won't fix
Ulocate is the software that works behind the scenes to give mapquest some of it's GPS capabilities. I've been telling Ulocate for about 2 years now about a safety issue with their product that to date they have stubbornly refused to fix or even contact me about. It's too bad they've disabled HTML code on this site because I have a web page I created that explains what the problem is, including pictures. On the outside chance they'll make an exception, here is the link. creationists.org/badservice/ulocatefindmemapquest.html
The problem mainly has to do with the poor choice of using a dark grey background along with dark black letters on some of the navigation screen. It can make them much more difficult to read during bright sunlight conditions. I've literally had to pull over to the side of the road during rush hour traffic to try to read the screens. It's stupidity to have designed a screen with that kind of a color combination when they know full well people will need to be reading it under harsh sunlight conditions. My advice is that until Ulocate starts listening and responding to their customers about issues like this, avoid the Mapquest Find me product and use a different product whose designers are blessed with a bit more common sense.

NEVER WORKS
I hate Map Quest! It never gives you a map from your start point to your end point. If it does they make it so hard to find it that it rates "sucks" on being user friendly. I will not use this site again!!!

Kartchner Caverns State Park (near Benson Az)
Usually good directions but this time gave the wrong exit and instructed me to turn and drive down a horrible dirt road that had huge holes at which time I managed to turn around and get off this road and back on the freeway, very poor directions

Incorrect directions
In BoYNE city MI., you have our business Fieldcrest Inn Motel located 1mile west of Boyne City. It is incorrect. It is located on the east city limits of Boyne City. At 1415 Boyne Ave. ( M- 75 South) Posted By Tony Barren 2-5-07

Incorrect directions
In St. Paul, Minnesota, you have travellers going east on I-94 getting off at Snelling and going to Concordia St. to get to Randolph. This is incorrect. After getting off on Snelling, going South, continue going south on Snelling 1.7 miles to Randolph and take a right to Davern. Please don't send them to Concordia. Several clients have gotten lost and wasted time trying to figure how to get to 1690 Randolph where they will find Care East. Thank you very much.

This site is good and dependable for basic directions and maps. An excellent website if you wish to find directions from or to a place
