I was looking to post a ZERO STAR RATING
Set this 'free profile' up on the offchance, I knew it would obviously involve a subscription somewhere. No profile picture attached yet

My preference is for Black ladies, always has been. This was the only information I gave on the profile. I got 5 emails, all from white 'ladies'. Obviously to view them I would need to pay a subscription. Now, why would 5 caucasiuan ladies message a guy with no profile picture and who is only interested in black? Hmmm?!

This site is clearly a sc.am, bulk mailing people from falsely created profiles knowing that a lonely heart somewhere will think 'Yes! I'm IN!' and pay a subscription to read the messages.

The 'ladies' that messaged me are most likely a failed IT nerd sat in a broom cupboard somewhere!

WATCH THESE PEOPLE - IT IS A SC.AM.

IGNORE THE POS1TIVE REVIEWS ON HERE - THEY ARE WRITTEN BY THE SC4MMERS.

FACEBOOK ADVERTISED THIS SITE - DON'T ASSUME FACEBOOK ADVERTS ARE BONA FIDE

mate1 , waste of Time
Well, gave them,'mate1' a try.Worst experience ever.In 2 1/2 months had
over 500 views, met no one, had to block over 9 pages of users, basically
had to write support , in total over 30 times even called support.
They gave me 1 month Free, what a mistake, for me ,I had to keep updating
support on phonys`, CAM, girls, duplicate phony profiles.
And would anyone care to tell me why, people in my own city would not respond? But, sure enough ,Nigeria,Ghana,& Russia ,had no problem tried
to play me.And yes, I can Prove it 100%.
Guys 1/in my opinion cost is expensive 2/a lot of phonies 3/you will waste your time.
I will say this one (1)positive,which is support dose listen and dose
remove the phonies.Only to have them register again.
I don`t know if they habe an IP, Locator, but, if they do they should
post the phonies.
Site use is eay, but, what good is it when if your a Man sincerely looking and the Woman are playing games, I can only surmise that you
would have better luck at your local coffee shop.
Last ,but sadly true the gals use "SCRIPTS" , only had say less than 5 %
actually write ,what appealed to them (the woman),that sent a real commentary. And still makes a man, wonder, if my profile said no kids why
are you writing me?
Advice, try 2 days . more advice don`t waste your time and I wonder how
many users they would have if they charged both sexes?

dog with a bone
I have been on Mate1 site for about a month (I don't pay) received a few messages and had some chats. then got contacted by a real good looking man ( I am in the UK) My first thought was, he doesn't need to be on here. Anyway have been talking to him on a regular basis. got the usual sob story. He said he is Polish living in the US and from the way he writes, he is definately not english. Most of it is drivel, I think he has a poetry book beside him and just copies the porno bits. He managed to get his email address up, so I contacted him there. My address is not my normal one. He is now coming to visit me on the 3rd week of this month, and wants me to go onto messenger, so that we can chat. (we already are, by email) He sent me some more pictures, two of "him" and one of someone completely different. I would love to keep this bloke going until he "hangs" himself. I have told crime stoppers, and the UK police. Have been told they can't do anything until a crime has been commited , so much for crime prevention. I could keep this going with a different computer, he has given me the link to gmail chat, that he has set up for us. What's the point, the law isn't interested and neither it seems is Mate1. I told them, they asked for his online name, but thats it. He is not very bright, doesn't seem to realise that I can check when he has been on the site, so not very faithful either. Just looking for more "stupid foreign women" I'm not sure if he can get my IP address once I am online chat, and hack into my computer. Perhaps I have been watching too much NCIS. I would love to string this idiot along, there may be a whole gang of them, who knows. Any computer nerds out there, that can give me a safe route. I have a dongle so I can locate anywhere and chat, with a different computer. I am just wondering who the picture is of, probably some happily married man with a family, that doesn't know his mug shot is on a date site. Or he could be dead in a ditch with his ID gone missing

Mate1 is OK if you're careful
I've been on Mate1 for about four months. In that time, I have met six local ladies who were all flesh-and-blood real people, and all were very nice. On the other hand, I also have gotten a plethora of attempts from at least five different countries. The worst are the ones who look like the proverbial girl next door with a USA location, but when you communicate, they are stuck in Nigeria and need money to get out of the country, or some variation on that theme.

Bottom line is I can neither condemn nor praise Mate1. It has worked for me, but caveat emptor applies big time.

beware
I have been on many sites in my life to meet someone but never have I had such a bad feeling about this site. As soon as I joined my chat box notices went out the roof! Something very suspicious about the users on this site. I am over 40 yrs old so why would an 18-28 want to chat with me? When I acknowledge a request, everyone wants your email/im address and ask if you cam. I have email moderator since my suspicion and my notices are slowing down.
I worked in intelligence and investigations and DO NOT PROVIDE ANY INFO TO ANYONE UNLESS I AM 100% SURE THEY ARE WHO THEY CLAIM. Ask questions of the person that they would only know based on their listed profession and claimed geographics. Remember key phrases in bios. Alot of them repeat themselves different user bios. Check the available pictures in your area for duplicate pictures. (I have found two so far.) If you suspect someone block them.
Everyone deserves to find someone but be careful you don't get played.

robotic flick phrases
I was curious what they meant by Online Ambassadors. Also I wonder the purpose of those robotic little sentences you get with the flick of a key. A couple of times I had spent some time and effort writing replies to guys who replied to my profile, and then all they sent back were these ready made sentences, presumably it is the equivalent of the two finger salute?

I hardly get any replies, and was thinking of just closing my profile. It doesn't seem to do any harm but I am not tech savvy. It just seems to be a terrible waste of time and the guys on their aren't looking for me. At least it was free, I didn't realise they charged anyone?

Beware!
I believe that there are those out there either hired by someone or working on their own who have stolen identities of others including getting access to photos of the person they ar portraying. I was contacted by Edward Richmond a while ago leading me to believe he was an architect from California working in Pittsburgh. Everything was going along great with promises to take me to The Netherlands where he was from and Paris. We even talked on telephone and there was an accent all right but I am not sure it was Dutch. Anyways the more involved we became the more thinks did not make sense and the day before he was due to fly to meet me he had problems at his work site his workers would not work because he was unable to pay them and could I lend him the money to pay his workers so he could come to stay with me for a couple of weeks. Needless to say that obviously this site does not screen everyone that is who they say they are. Very disappointing.

Haunted forever
Deactivating new mail notifications doesn't. Canceling all email subscriptions doesn't. Change email address to bogus address doesn't work either. They keep sending reactivation messages after you've cancelled and after you have deleted your profile. Complaints to technical support and other mate1.com contacts have been fruitless. Don't believe all the anonymous posts. mate1.com is crap and a never-ending nightmare.

DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY DETAILS
XOMREVIEWS will not let me post an honest review of Mate1

I own my own domain, so when I signed up with Mate1 I was able to give them an address that only they would have "qmate1xcom@(mydomain.tld)"

Within a couple of weeks I started getting financial related emails sent to that address. Since I NEVER made that address available ANYWHERE else other than in the Mate1 sign-up form, the only possibility is that Mate1 passed my details (and yours) to a criminal spam gang.
Querioes and complaints sent to the relevant Mate1.com addresses remain unanswered.

I did some research on the internet looking to see what experience others had with Mate1.com
1. Mate1 is NOT a free service
2. They will take unauthorised payments from your credit card
3. They use "online ambassadors" to message users fake messages
4. Their ACTUAL terms and conditions bear no relation to their posted T&Cs.

Used to be great :(
I used to have some great times off Mate1. Two years back was the last time I used it with any real success (and ended up having sex on the beach with a foreign beauty). Since then, all the real women have left and it's been overtaken by spambots. If you do a search for women in your area with "slender" or "athletic" body types, you'll find about four that've been active within the past week. Sad.

If you decide to experiment, make sure you disable the setting that lets the OAs contact you. Otherwise, your inbox will be flooded with messages from chicks Mate1 pays to spam unwitting fellas.

I was dissapointed...
I was referred by another site to join mate1, after just 15 minutes of use i got a new message from [cant remember her name] i tried to read it (upgrade now)- ok, but i noticed my inbox was still reading 1 message, [* Mailbox (1 new)] it said that after i signed up most likely a welcome email..

So if i have a new message should it not read 2 messages, well i logged off and went to work, came back new message Destyni856 OA
so i logged in still only 1 mail wtf.

Something is not right with this site, these girls keep mailing me but profile views say 0? [Your profile has been viewed 0 times]

Then i got a chat invite from some girl, tried to chat (Upgrade Now) my gut feeling was trouble so i quite using it i believe it's not right for me.

MATE1.COM IS A COMPLETE SCAM! DO NOT JOIN THEIR COMPANY AND DO NOT JOIN THEIR SITE!
BEWARE, THEY SCAM YOU TO JOIN AND PAY AND TO KEEP YOU PAYING EACH MONTH WITH FRAUDULENT MESSAGES FROM ONLINE AMBASSADORS

WHAT IS THE DEFINITION OF AMBASSADOR? 'an ambassador of good will'

What is MATE1.COM 's defitionition of their Online Ambassador? To hire women all accross the United States or World and provide them an exciting 'work at home' career opportunity where they will spend a few hours a week to lie, cheat, steal, scam, mislead, and fraudulently send messages to members of the Mate1 site who join during the 3 day trial, and make them think they are getting dozens of messages from other girls who are interested in them, but these trial members cannot communicate and respond to these messages unless they pay the $49.95 membership fee. And when you do reply to all these online ambassadors messages, you never hear back from them. They just all send you messages to profit, and get you to pay.

Also, if you are an existing customer and member of MATE1.COM, and your membership expires, you will notice that you will start getting dozens of emails from girls who like you and want to communicate with you, and when you pay, you again never hear from them again.

MATE1.COM IS A COMPLETE FRAUD AND SCAM

I have been a member (paying member) for 8 months now, paying 49.95 x 8 months and so far I have lost a total of $400.

But I cannot even count how many hours I spent on Mate1 the last 8 months, probably some 100 hours total.

Recently, I decided to not use MATE1.COM for a month after my membership expired, but when i went back to the site just 5 days ago, I noticed I had 23 new messages. So stupid me I pull out my credit card and pay the 49.95 fee so i can see my messages and reply to them.

When I look at most of the messages, I see very beautiful women, and I can tell they are all fake, because why would a beautiful woman be on a dating website like Mate1? IT NEVER HAPPENS! They would never need or think of using a dating website, because they would not have a problem finding a date where they live. So i know most of the girls are fake.

Another problem, alot of girls that do want to chat online using MATE1.COM, about 95% of them want you to join their WEBCAM site and enter your credit card info. And they send you a link to a website that is NOT secure, and when I research the website they take you to, it is a website that is registered and owned by a company and hosted by a company in Malaysia or another foreign company, so the only purpose of the site is to steal your credit card info.

Does Mate1 do anything about it? No! They will not easily delete users because they need the membership fees to make a huge profit.

I have been a member of Mate1.com site for 8 months now, and I just spent 40 minutes going through all my received and sent communications (I have 70 pages of messages) with ALL members of Mate1.com website.

What did I find? Atleast 80% of all communications I received were from Online Ambassadors (OA) and Former Online Ambassadors (FOA) who are actually EMPLOYEES of Mate1.com

The OA's and FOA's primary interests is to not communicate with you as they are not interested in you, they are ONLY interested in your wallet and to get you to keep paying the monthly fee making you think you have alot of members consistently interested in you.

80% of all communications were fraudulent, causing members to waste hundreds of hours of their time sending honest and sincere responses back to girls they think they are interested in, this is TRULY fraud because the company that you are paying to use the services is the company that is ripping you off to continue paying them.

The results? After months, you don't find anyone, you lose ALL trust in any female wether online or someone you met in your community because you feel like they are all liars and ripoffs. You waste hundreds of hours talking to girls reading their profiles and looking at their photos and then realizing their photos and stories are all fake and fraudulent.

How can anyone ever want to date after experiencing something like this? This is really screwing with peoples lives just for profit!

I looked at Mate1 on Google, and they have alot of negative complaints about them. I researched MATE1.COM on the Better Business Bureau website, and they have a rating of F.

Crazy women aboard
That site is whacked up! I actually made a video of me doing a voice message on my profile because 1) I knew it was scam. 2) I just wanted to f*** around and cancel the membership. So get this right, this chick suppose to be a model gave me her number right away asking me for my picture. I'm like fine-whatever. So I sent her a normal picture and wrote "There." The number i sent it to called back - but I didn't answer because I wasn't available. So later on, I sent her a text because since being a model or some s**t - she wants to get naughty. So, I wrote, "You think you should deserve a hot dirty picture? :) Maybe not huh." She text back, "Yes" then on the bottom "God love you and me" which is totally bull. Anyways, so I sent it to her and she replied, "U crazy" so, i used sarcasm. "Yup, you know it and you love it!" she wrote back, "You know what I'm gonna do - i'm gonna give the police your number. Now, live me alone!" I was like huh? What was that all about? Then it done to me - this crazy chick took it seriously! I was like how f***ed up can you be! After dealing will zillion of those online stalkers - I'm sure they'll start being paranoid. Also, it said I kept on getting new messages from the site - so, I'm like, 'Okay, who in the h3ll is it now!" so i clicked on the stupid little link and guess what it said? "You have to reactivate your account!" Yup, and up yours too Mate1.com

Fake
LOL...ROTFLOL…it’s difficult for me to convey in a mere sentence or two my opinions in regards to ALL of the "so-called" dating websites – Mate1 included.lol

In a realm that is susceptible to duplicitous and apocryphal activity, one cannot elude Internet trolls, spammers, and scammers notwithstanding claims of authenticity by certain individuals.

One telltale clue that unravels the fraudulent overtones on any given profile (female profiles especially) is the intentional use of faulty grammar, syntax, and use of certain words in incorrect context (i.e. "your" instead of "you're"). However, correct writing form does NOT exempt this genre of website from being anything but bogus. Not just my opinion; it's also my personal experience on "various" websites and discussion forums.

Hmmm.so so. I got something out of it.
I'm skeptical about the online D scene. But then again I don't really care about money much...its just money.

So yea. The 3 day trial is worth it. I mean its 3 days, but be sure to cancel before its up, or you will get billed for another month. Of course, if you are browsing any site, its your own fault if you get cheated out of some money if you aren't reading the fine print.

Pros: It is free for women. There are some decent people worth talking to. I've met some cool cats that I'm still penning with and talking to daily and become close friends with.

Cons: Guys have to pay. Accounts aren't monitored...so anyone can make an acct if they state they are female to use as a spam account for sex site advertising.but look at MySpace or any networking site, they are all plagued with that garbage, because they let anyone sign up.

Overall: Mate1 is not bad per say, but its kind of sexist that women can freely use anything but men have to pay for full use. This makes me believe that Mate1 sexualizes women, so by giving them free accounts, women can easily whore themselves out, while the men have to pay for their "virtual hookers". Lol. In my opinion, if your a guy that is, use at your own choice. You can meet someone, or maybe not, but you just gotta know how to filter searches to get past the spam. Not a terribly bad site, but then again, I've nothing to compare it too, I was just bored.

I Fell For This Too, But I'm Fighting Back !
I know this is going to sound like gratuitous self-promotion, but hear me out. I'm single, and like you, I'm interested in finding someone great. I don't care where I meet her -- I just want to meet her.

So ? I gave Mate1.com a chance (but not without a little bit of hesitation). My game plan ? At the very least, I planned ahead and used a only-use-once e-mail address. Like many of the experiences I have read on-line, all I got was inquiries from Women far, far away, and I had not even posted a profile ! I'm sorry, but I (myself) don't know if I want to be with a gal who's interested in meeting totally random men on the internet.

But that's not where the story ends. Shortly after canceling, the e-mail I had used to register -- again, it was a unique e-mail that was used that one and only time -- started getting BARAGED with e-mail.

So, what am I doing about it ? Simple. I'm tabulating the results and posting them on-line for others to use in deciding whether they want to do business with Mate1. Take a look . . . www.emailorspam.com.

HORRIBLE
I'm a mate and I've been on mate1 for about two months, wasted $100 and I have reached two conclusions about mate1.

1) YES you will meet woman..but they will be about 10,000 miles away from you. Unless you can afford to travel to Australia or all the way across the US for a first date it is probably not for you. This site should be called "PenPal1.com"

2) The woman in your area who will actually TALK to you are ugly, fat, and have loads of baggage. I love getting messages from Cindy, the morbidly obese alcoholic, with three kids, lives on welfare but lives close to me! There are about 5 decent to average looking woman in my area but naturally they REFUSE to talk to me or respond to any of my messages.

STAY away..it's just time to cut my losses and leave!

WHAT AN F'ING JOKE
This site sucks!! Since I'm a lesbian I at least get to use the site for free. Guess my mom was right, you get what you pay for.I'm lookin for a long term (life partner) relationship not a weekend fling with someone who would email crude pictures of themselves to a total stranger. To the folks who send those tpes of photos, if you're doing anything with fingers, toys, other people or small (or not so small) pets, keep that crap in you scrapbook under the bed with the toys. I wonder if Mate 1 pays these little bimbos to send this BS out. Guys, if you just wanna look this might be the place for you but if you want something to take home, get out before your trial membership runs out. Better yet, just rent a movie. You get the same thing for a lot less money and the girls on the movies are much prettier. Ladies, if you're looking for a guy, don't trust one you meet on this site. For anyone who's into cybersex this is the place for you. I'm sorry, I know I'm rambling on, but there's just nothing good I can say about this really crappy site. katty
