I also have been a member of Neopets since 2001. Over these years I've seen a lot of friendship, random chats, and significantly increased my (number pad) keystrokes per hour! Unfortunately this site has poor moderation, extremely sensitive filters, a crappy economy, and the ability to steal your soul into hours of meaningless nonsense. However, if you're looking for a site simply to waste a few hours away on random games, Neopets has quite the diversity of them.

Awful site...addictive, staff is horrible, boards are barely moderated, filled with spam, ads, and plugging products on every single page.

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with all of you! I love the new pound, the new layout, and some of the new neopets! Yes there are a lot of advertisments and it can sometimes be bothersom but it's gret website for younger children or older teens or adults! I love making neopoints and talking to my neofriends over neomail! It's very exciting to me to long on every morning because Im smothered with neomails and it's very loving to get that many neomails! I've been playing Neopets since 2001 and it's seriously not as fun as you think. It's addictive yet boring. You'd have yourself doing things that you don't WANT to do. The Neopets Team (TNT) never responds to ANY emails. They lied and said they have over one million plays yet only about 60,000 are active players. Neopoints are hard to get unless you have like ultra fast internet and sit there refreshing a shop all day.
To me, it's not the addicting problem. It's the inconsideration of TNT and no the site is not safe for children. Too many ads, and free stuff and "special offers." "Sign up for __ and get 600nps!" TNT used favoritism, are biased, and do not care about their players. I had much experience to the game and I wasn't even CLOSE to being a 100% pro at it. You'd be playing games for 4 hours just to get 20k nps. The community is VERY rude also. You'd ask anything and they would go "NOOB!" Stay away from this site to save yourself the anger and disappointment. You'd be banned just trying to defend yourself in any way.

Just like the person from above - sorry but Neopets isn't as "Great" as you think. It may be fun at first but then it will get you angrey and depressed. You have "work" to make your account "pretty" and make your pets "cool". I wouldn't recommened the site. Too addicting!

I have been playing neopets since the very beginning and have had exactly 4 main accounts. Each one has been frozen except for my current which I have had for 37 months. Of my other three, the first one was frozen for something chat related. (Which was bull) The second was supposedly asking for someone's password over neomail. (In factuality I was warning them about a scam. Gee.. smart, aren't they?) The third was just.. random. I don't even know why... it just says it's been frozen and I can't access it anymore. Now tell me, is this fair? Yes, I hate neopets. But I'm addicted. It's like a drug. All I have to say is, keep your children away from it.
