I have used netscape.com as my start page for many years and find that they provide the best content out of all the start pages I've used. In addition to reading the usual headlines, I especially like their little What's New window which provides me with all kinds of interesting info from celebrity gossip, quirky medical facts to relationship advice and other odd news. My day definitely starts with Netscape.
