 No Hassle Bed Cover
I started looking for a truck bed cover for my GMC Sierra. I was looking for a cover that was durable, functional and attractive. I selected this bed cover for its features of being made of metal and when folded, taking less than 8 inches from the length of the truck bed when open. Also, the cover allowed you the full length of the truck bed to a height of about 5 inches for lumber or pipe without impeding its opening and closing.
I often haul a motorcycle and needed a cover that could be easily removed to accommodate the bike and other large items. With the Peragon, I can leave the cover open, folded against the cab and load the dirt bike with the tailgate open. Or I can remove the metal accordion panels, load the motorcycle, and close the tailgate. I have the option of leaving the panels at home or taking them along, storing them beside the dirt bike and reinstalling them to cover my gear while out riding.
The installation was easy once you visualized how the cover operates in the rails. The mounting of the rails becomes just a matter of bolting on the rails and adjusting them for a smooth sliding of the panels in the runners. In my case, there was no drilling in the bed, just about 3 hours of assembling, adjusting and bolting. The only snag, if one could call that, was that I had to readjust the rails a couple of times after a few weeks of use to maintain the smooth sliding of the panels. Maybe the fact that I have a spray-in bed liner with coverage over the top of the truck bed causes the rails to move slightly. That being said, I am very satisfied with the Peragon cover.
