Worst Insurance I ever have
And I had national on month to month who constantly failed to report my SR-22. I don't have one anymore and received a good quote from the general and paid. They failed to notify that I needed financial responsibility from Geico and that was the reason I was getting a good rate. They jacked up my insurance to nearly double. I got the letter of responsibility and mailed it in and they took for ever to fix the problem. I had wrote them and noted the urgency because my policy was about to expire and they drug there feet. I had to get a new policy so I ordered a new one and they failed to underwrite that one because it was on the other account. they finally merged the accounts and still screwed me out of about 50 dollars. So I am screwing them now out of all money because rest assured I will never use this company again. Better to pay the higher premiums at Geico even there very nasty to deal with. They tried to send general insurance a letter of experience including all my past tickets hoping I would have to pay a higher premium so I would come back. What jerks but even so better than PGAC The General. Don't use them ever I have never had a accident in my life so I don't know how they are to settle a claim but from what others have said I just wouldn't trust this company. Even if they have a lower price.

HORRIBLE company !
I rear-ended someone and my car was a total loss. It took them almost 3 months to figure everything out. They removed my car a week after the wreck from my autbody shop and took it to a lot of theirs. I made two payments on the car waiting on them cut my check for pay off. The sad part is I had to do alot of calling to my lean company myself. My adjuster was a jerk, and my claims adjuster was clueless. The hardly ever returned my phone calls. I would leave 2 a day sometimes. Just to actually speak to them I would have to call early in the morning when I knew they where first getting to work. The agency I went through helped me more than anything. I did more of the work myself than they did for me, and I pay them monthly to work for me. Do yourself a favor and DONT use this company. I wouldn't advise anyone to get insurance through them.

Find another company!
I had PGAC because of some speeding tickets I had, they started out as the cheapest (get what you pay for!) coverage I could find. I had a 98 Subaru impreza outback I sold that and bought an 04 Element, my payment went from $80.00 a month to $185.00, I randomly got another payment for $213.00 when I called to find out why it went out no one could tell me why. I moved from a bad neighborhood to the mnts, my boyfriends insurance (state farm) went down where as my PGAC insurance went UP again, now to $224.00. I got a quote from Geico the quote from Geico is $85.00 a MONTH! That's a difference of almost $140.00 a month they were charging me. There customer service is horrible, every time you want to make a change to your policy it takes 24hrs to 3 days and has to go to the underwriter for review.

Do NOT use this company no matter what is on your driving record.

STAY AWAY!!!
Horrible company, horrible service, horrible everything. I paid $452 dollars for 16 days of coverage, including a down payment. I just needed to get my new car off the lot. I informed them of this and they set me up for some 1-year plan. I got my car off the lot and called back to cancel so I could find some much better and affordable service. They did so, but added some 10% charge of the remaining premium on a 1-year insurance plan that was almost 4500 dollars. They did not prorate my $452 and pocketed the rest of the half a month that should have been returned to me. After weeks of arguing, pleading, and reasoning, NOTHING! You do the math...$452 for 16 days of insurance. I gave them my hard-earned money! I also told them I got a new car because I was hit by a drunk driver who was uninsured. Did they care? NO! Horrible service, horrible business, very unethical! STAY AWAY. Or if you're still interested?...Might as well hang out in an alley until you're mugged by some dude named THE GENERAL (PGAC). lol

This Company is Clueless
My boyfriend and I were rear-ended by a driver who was insured with Permanent General. I ended up in the ER with whiplash. A week after the incident I called our assigned claim rep at PGAC and left a voicemail. After about a month of not hearing back from her she finally called and accused me of being neglegent by not calling her (mind you, it's her job to contact me). She told me that her insured was not covered enough to pay for my medical bills, which she believed were in excess of $18,000 (for a simple cat scan!). She told me that it was my fault that I hadn't contacted my insurance company even though I was not driving and my car was not involved in the accident. I was going to have to pay out of my own pocket. She gave me terrible legal advice and had me completely terrified. After checking with the hospital I found out that my medical bills were only about $4,000 and that this rep had no idea what she was talking about. She never returned my phone calls and her voicemail said to not leave multiple messages (clearly indicating she has problems returning calls). Finally, after I received a collections letter from the hospital I contacted a supervisor at PGAC. She was very nice at first, but it has now been almost three weeks without a returned call or email from her as well. Both my insurance, Geico, and my boyfriend's insurance, USAA, said that this company has no idea what they are talking about and that the rep at PGAC was completely ignorant during the one time they were able to reach her via phone.

Bottom line - this company is TERRIBLE.
