"They cancelled my ticket".
I received confirmation from smart fares with flight details and a Flight reservation number with the airlines. The ticket said CONFIRMED then I received an email three days later saying it was canceled. When I called they said they never received confirmation from the airlines even though I received a confirmed reservation email. The agent then said she could re-booked the same flight(funny since they said that flight was cancelled) for three times what I paid for initially. I said no that was ridiculous, went back online to their website. Looked at the same flight, same time, same day, same airline and it was the same price as before not the price she quoted me(by the way it was 500 when I booked it, she told me it would be 1400 NOW). I will never go back to this company, I will report them to the better business bureau.
I called back to let them know what happened with the my situation and the man who answered said "what do you want me to do about it". Worst service ever!

SmartFares has not been a good experiance at all. Seeing a "service fee" of $55.98,seperately billed on my credit card and 2 charges for AirFrance, I called to inquiry why these had been made. The service rep-girl was very sarcastic, giving me no service, just attitude. This service fee is not shown until AFTER you book the flight. If you choose to cancel, you pay a huge penalty-buyer beware!! The bogus charges were turned over to the fraud unit of my credit card, as they were made 7 minutes after the tickets were charged. No I am sorry for this mistake or anything! Apparently, they do this often but it won't happen to me again. Stick w/ a company that has a good track reord. You'll pay less in the end-and no hassles.

The actual cost of the air fare is the same when you book with SmartFares, or the airline with which you are flying, but it ends up costing you more to book through SmartFares. SmartFares make it look less expensive, by hiding administrative fees. It is actually costing us approximately $26 extra dollars a ticket, by going with SmartFares. On top of that, when I called to gain some insight on the "service fee" charged to my credit card, the representative was sarcastic and not helpful at all. It is not worth your time, or energy, to use SmartFares. They are in the service industry, yet provide no service at all. Try a different 'discount' provider, or go dorectly to the airline, to save yourself a headache.
