You are getting your download info confused just a bit. When Hughes states 500MB download threshold it only means that if you download over 500MB withing a 24 hour period you will violate the FAP or fair access policy just like all the other satellite companies have. If you go over the FAP or 500MB limit then your speeds will be reduced to dial up or similar for only 24 hours then reset. Now as for the 4.2GB download from wildblue pay closer attention to the actual fine print. Wildblue offer a 4.2GB threshold but thats for a 30day period or a whole month. Meaning if you go over the 4.2GB threshold in week 1 of the month then you will be at dial up speeds for the next 3 weeks until the next month when it resets. IF you want to compare using this method then it would be Hughes at 13.67GB for a month and wilblue at 4.2GB for a month. One of the main reasons I did not go with Wildblue is because of thier horrible 30day period, I mean who wants to risk going over and having to wait 2 or 3 weeks to get the speeds you pay for, and also Wilblue has many more problems with thier service and most sometimes if ever actually reach speeds stated on thier plan. Satellite internet sucks, but when its your only option the only thing to do is compare the fine details of hughes and wildblue. Hughes beat wildblue by 2 to 1 in almost all categories.
