I do not care for the wings as they never fit right. I buy at k-mart stores or walmart and I would like to see them in stock on a regular basis so I don't get caught without. Great product! 	11. mettlerwine.com Sunday, June 10, 2007 @ 2:54:00 PM I was introduced to the Mettler Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon wine by friends of mine. Since it was a name I had not heard of, I was admittedly, skeptical. Boy was I plesantly surpirsed! The wine had plenty of fruit, was smooth and went fabulously with dinner. I later looked up the winery on line (mettlerwine.com), read up on their story, and bought a bottle of thier Petite Sirah. I took the wine to another friends house and thuroughly enjoyed it. Ubicación: Distrito de Paracas, provincia de Pisco, departamento de Ica. Ecorregión: Mar frío de la Corriente Peruana y desierto del Pacífico. Objetivos [editar]Conservar una muestra representativa de los ecosistemas marinos del mar frío de la Corriente Peruana o Corriente de Humboldt, considerado por los especialistas como el más productivo de la Tierra, además de mantener los ambientes utilizados por una amplia variedad de especies migratorias para su alimentación y refugio durante sus largas travesías anuales. Especies que protege [editar]Parte de la superficie de la Reserva, específicamente 217.594 hectáreas, está constituida por ambientes acuáticos (para muchos el mar más rico del planeta). Debido a su importancia como lugar de descanso y alimentación para especies migratorias en 1991 fue elevada a la categoría de Reserva Regional de la Red Hemisférica para Aves Playeras (en la actualidad Programa "Wetlands for the Americas"). Asimismo, en abril de 1992 fue reconocida como uno de los sitios de acrácter especial para la Convención Relativa a los Humedales de Importancia Internacional (Convención RAMSAR), especialmente como hábitat de especies acuáticas. Pelícanos en las Islas Ballestas Clima [editar]Con un clima suave y de un promedio anual de 22 grados centígrados y sol casi constantemente, con baja humedad, la estadía se hace agradable. Características del mar [editar]El Plancton es favorecido por las microcorrientes de agua, hecho que atrae numerosa cantidad de peces, otras especies de la zona y a los piscicultores. En líneas generales el afloramiento Paracas es uno de los 9 más importantes del mundo, estas corrientes ascendentes traen nutrientes del fondo marino, fertilizando las aguas superficiales, esto conlleva a una superproducción de fitoplancton, lo que los biólogos conocen como alta productividad primaria. Fauna [editar]La reserva tiene ambientes propicios en la costa para la conservación y tranquila reproducción de numerosas especies de aves residentes y migratorias. Entre las que más se encuentran están los pelícanos, la gaviota gris (Larus modestus), zarcillo (Larosterna inca), rayador (Rynchops nigra), chorlo ártico (Pluvialis squatarola), Chuita (Phalacrocorax gaimardi), guanay (Phalacrocorax bougainvilli), el cóndor, el pingüino de Humboldt (en peligro de extinción) y las parihuanas o flamencos (Phoenicopterus chilensis), entre otras especies. Los peces que se encuentran en esta zona marítima son: el lenguado (Etropus extenes), el toyo blanco (Mustelus whitneyi), el bonito (Sarda chilensis), el tramboyo, la raya, la chita, sardina, anchoveta Engraulis ringens, pampanito, mero, corvina, lorna y otras muchas especies. Lobos marinos en las Islas Ballestas de esta ReservaLos mamíferos en esta reserva principalmente están representados por los lobos marinos de un pelo o chusco (Otaria byronia), el lobo de dos pelos o lobo fino (Arctocephalus australis), el bufeo (Delphinius delphis) y el gato marino (Lutra felina), éste, en peligro de extinción. También la reserva está poblada de tortugas laúd y verde, reptiles como lagartijas (Microlophus spp.) y geckos (Phyllodactylus spp.), pulpos, calamar (Loligo gahi), almejas y crustáceos como el carretero (Ocypode gaudichaudii), el cangrejo violáceo (Platyxantus orbigny) y el muy muy (Emerita analoga)). Flora [editar]Esta parte del Océano Pacífico es rica en fitoplancton y en algas. De acuerdo a las investigaciones realizadas in situ, se han podido contabilizar más de 250 especies de algas, tales como los yuyos (Gigartina chamissoi y Grapeloupia doryphora), la lechuga del mar (Ulva fasciata forma costata), y el aracanto (Macrocystis integrifolia). La flora terrestre cuenta pocas especies, debido a la extrema aridez del desierto. Sin embargo, existen áreas en el desierto, denominadas lomas, que reciben un aporte constante de neblinas costeras, en las cuales se desarrollan pequeñas comunidades de líquenes, tillandsias, y algunas hierbas (entre las más comunes están las especies de Solanum y Oxalis). La parte norte de la Reserva incluye amplias zonas recubiertas por Distichlis spicata y un pequeño bosque de sofaique (Geoffroea decorticans).
