1. I agree with ripley9000...HughesNet S*#KS!!, Saturday, October 18, 2008 @ 10:55:00 PM
WOW.I wished I would have taken the time to do my homework and research what other customers have experienced with HughesNet! I purchased their service on August 27th, hurricane Ike hit the Texas gulf coast on September 12th and after 2 weeks of service, I was not able to access internet via HughesNet again! I signed up for their warranty service (I believe this is what it was called) that was supposed to guarantee me a technician would be out within 48 hours to realign my dish...what a joke that was. 2 weeks after calling customer service & tech support, still no technician nor the internet from HughesNet (thank goodness I never cancelled my dial-up service). I made numerous calls to customer service and tech support (I have about 20 reference numbers for these calls) and realized that HughesNet had to GO!! One of the biggest lessons I learned is I will NEVER do business with a company who outsources any part of their service to another country (especially India). These individuals (Fritzie & Princess to name a few) may learn to SPEAK English but that is NO guarantee that they UNDERSTAND our language!!! I cancelled my service and told Fritzie at least 12 times that HughesNet was not authorized to charge my credit card...but guess what, they DID! I also had to cancel my credit card and have a new number issued to me so that I could be assured they will NOT get anymore of my money. I was so upset after my last phone call with their Indian customer service that I told the individual to make sure they remove my name from any list HughesNet has because I NEVER want to hear from them again.unless it's to refund me money I believe they owe me (I realize I'm dreaming here)! Now I have an HN9000 and dish that is no use to me but I will attempt to list it on eBay and Craigslist for sale.and when I went to my bank this past week, the teller was telling me she just signed up for HughesNet and I told her that was probably the WORST mistake she will EVER make..and she admitted that she hasn't noticed any increase in speed vs. her dial-up :( And just to mention, not that I believe it will do me any good, I also filed a complaint with the BBB against HughesNet and when asked what outcome I would like to see from my complaint, I replied my money back and if this couldn't be accomplished, then I would like to see HughesNet go out of business so they couldn't screw anyone else!!!
